Happy Friday, friends! It’s been such a nice change of pace these past two weeks. January is always a slower month with work and life in general. On the personal front, I’ve been tackling house chores and wrapping up post-holiday to-dos (over the weekend I’m working on adding this year’s holiday season memories to this book – Our Christmas Story – I update it each year, and it’s so fun to look back on!). On the work front, I’ve been spending time digging into the back end of things on the blog and auditing my associated social media accounts.
With the start of the new year always comes an intention to reset, reflect, and re-prioritize my time. I’ve had some really great conversations with y’all via DMs and on Instagram Stories this week regarding routines, specifically how I *try* to balance being a full-time stay at home mom with work and self-care too (squeezing in those workouts and much needed me time). Join us here! It’s a work in progress always, but I do feel like it’s always helpful to see how others are making it work.

Weekly Workouts
Two years after having Weldon, I’m slowly but surely getting back into group fitness classes. Over the past two years I’ve mainly relied on daily walks and lifting my child as my workout routine. And honestly, it worked out well for me during that time! But I love a group workout class. I used ClassPass‘s free two-week trial to try out a handful of studios. I landed on two favorites – City Surf and Romney Studios.
This week I took two hot yoga classes at Romney, a hot sculpt yoga class and a hot power yoga class. Both were great! I really enjoy the “hot” classes as they’re a great way to sweat a ton. In addition to those two classes, Weldon and I have gone on a couple of long afternoon walks this week – the weather has been absolutely gorgeous (in the mid-70s and full sunshine!). I’m planning on getting in another long walk this morning and a couple over the weekend too.

Weekend Plans
Planning on a low key weekend in New Orleans this weekend. My big project is to get started decorating my Cleo Mardi Gras parade throws – our signature throw is our glitter cups! I made a video of last year’s decorating process if you’re interested in checking it out.
