Happy Thanksgiving friends!  I hope you’re with the ones you love celebrating all the things to be thankful for this year.

I’m in Dallas with my family (just missing Michael and Team McHugh!) enjoying time with them, cheering on the Cowboys, and eating until I can’t move.

Although 2017 has definitely had it’s lows, I have so much to be thankful for this year.  I love Thanksgiving for many different reasons, but I really like that it’s the one day out of the year that really forces me to acknowledge all of the blessings in my life.   In the spirit of Thanksgiving, I thought I’d share five things, among many, that I’m thankful for this year.

My Family

We lost both of my mom’s parents this year, which was tough.  It made me appreciate, love, and cherish every moment I get to spend with my mom, dad, sister, brother-in-law, aunts, uncles, and cousins.  I know it’s cliche, but family really is everything.

Michael

Michael really doesn’t get enough credit.  He’s always been super patient and supportive, but this year he deserves a special shoutout.  I work on my passion projects (this blog and my contracts site) a lot.  He supports every minute I spend on both.  People ask all the time who takes my photos for this blog, 99 % of the time, it’s Michael!  Thanks, M!

My Friends

I’ve been so fortunate to have made so many wonderful friends throughout all of my stages in life thus far who I still keep in close contact with, despite the fact that we’re scattered all over the country.  I chat with my hometown BFFs weekly, if not daily.  And the same goes for my college group of friends.  My law school besties and I still catch up on the reg, even if we don’t see each other quite as often as we’d like.  And then there are all my friends that I’ve made in DC who make this such a wonderful place to be!  So thankful for all of these constants in my life!

This Blog and My Blog Family

I can’t tell you how thankful I am for this blog.  It has opened up doors and opportunities that I never knew existed.  And it’s all because of YOU, the readers.  From the bottom of my heart, thank you for following along here, on my social media channels, commenting, liking … everything!  You’re truly the best!

Finding a Niche with My Contracts Business

These last six months have been amazing for my newly launched contracts business (shameless plug, you can find it here).  I’ve so enjoyed using my law degree in a way that I really feel like I’m helping people.  I’ve enjoyed getting to know creatives and their businesses, and it brings me so much joy knowing that I’m helping out other creative entrepreneurs.  I can’t wait to see what 2018 brings!
