From the Weekend

Happy Monday!  I hope you all enjoyed the weekend.  We had a pretty great one here in D.C.  On Saturday we joined a group of friends to float down the Shenandoah River.  It was SO MUCH FUN!  We had a shuttle bus that we chartered to take us to Front Royal, Virginia (about an hour outside of D.C.) to float the river.  We used Front Royal Outdoors to set up our float and could not have asked for a better set up.  Unfortunately, I don’t have any photos as I couldn’t bring my phone or camera along on the river, but if you have any questions or want more details on the trip, feel free to send me an email!

On Sunday we made our way to one of our favorite neighborhood coffee joints, The Coffee Bar, to regroup after such a fun day on Saturday and get our ducks in a row before the craziness of Monday arrived.  We attempted to check out the BEACH exhibit at the National Building Museum, but the wait was close to two hours!  We are planning on trying it out again soon so I’ll be sure to give y’all the scoop when the line is not out of control.  In lieu of the museum we decided to check out a new (to us) popsicle spot.  I’ve been wanting to try out Pleasant Pops for a while now, and they just recently opened a second location that is a little bit closer to our neighborhood and close to downtown.  The staff was awesome.  As we explained that it was our first visit, they made a few suggestions of the most popular pops and their personal favorites.  We settled on the Strawberry Ginger Lemonade and Coconut flavors.  They were delicious!  We were so close to the White House that we decided to walk on over to check it out because it’s the White House!
