Holiday Cheer

White Lights - Holiday Cheer by popular Washington DC blogger Cobalt Chronicles

Christmas is by far my favorite holiday!  I’m one of those people that starts listening to Christmas music early in November to bring on the Holiday Cheer (and maybe even a few Mariah Carey songs here and there throughout the year …).  I’m planning on getting a tree this weekend and can’t wait to decorate! Along with checking that off of my Christmas to-do list, I have a few other festive things in mind that I definitely want to make happen before the most wonderful day of the year and Holiday Cheer arrives!

  1. Check out the National Christmas Tree near the White House.
  2. Visit the Capitol Christmas Tree  near the Capitol (yes, there are two big trees in DC!) .
  3. Head over to Union Station to see the beautiful decorations and gigantic wreaths.
  4. Train up to NYC to see the Rockefeller Christmas Tree!
  5. While in NYC, stroll past the extravagantly decorated window fronts of all of the stores along 5th Avenue.
  6. Sip hot chocolate while watching the ice skaters at the Rockefeller ice rink.
  7. Watch Home Alone, Elf, Love Actually, and The Holiday!
  8. Try out a new Christmas cookie recipe to share with co-workers.
  9. Attend mass on Christmas Eve at my childhood church in Shreveport.
  10. Spend as much time as possible with friends and family while remembering the reason for this holiday season.

I have a lot to accomplish over the next few weeks!  And if you didn’t catch on, I’m heading to NYC in a couple of weeks and couldn’t be more excited.  I absolutely LOVE New York during Christmas.  There is something so magical about the city this time of year that brings on the Holiday cheer.

I hope you have lots of festive and merry plans for the season as well.  Let me know if I’m missing any “musts” from my list!

P.S. I’ll be back tomorrow with another gift guide for you guys!

Happy Wednesday.
