Caprese Salad with a Twist

A rare Tuesday post!  If you haven’t noticed, I’ve been sticking to a Monday, Wednesday, Friday blogging schedule since I started.  Eventually, I would like to post daily, but for now, three days a week is much more manageable while I’m getting my feet wet in the blogging world.  Now onto the Tuesday post!

You may have stopped by yesterday and seen that I popped on over to the Dupont Fresh Farm Market on Sunday.  I scored some heirloom tomatoes at the market, and last night I put them to use.  Usually I would pair the tomatoes with mozzarella and basil for a classic caprese salad, but I couldn’t find any fresh basil at the market or at the grocery this week.  So I went with a twist – dill!  This is by no means a recipe, just an easy, throw together salad that not only is delicious but gorgeous as well!  After slicing the tomatoes, I sliced the fresh mozzarella, chopped the dill and sprinkled it over the top.  Finish with a drizzle of olive oil and balsamic vinegar and add a dash of salt and pepper – you’re all set!
