Along with committing myself to a new exercise routine (which I’ve actually done!) one of my new year’s resolutions for 2017 was and is to drink more water! I know we’ve all been told to drink more h2o a million times over, but it really is amazing how much better I feel if I actually keep myself hydrated throughout the day!
It’s definitely difficult to stick to resolutions, and one challenge for me in meeting my daily water intake goal is that I’m constantly on the go. I’ve found that the key is planning ahead! On any given weekday, I usually leave my apartment before 8:00 am and generally don’t get home until almost 8:00 pm. Oh and did I mention that I don’t own a car?! So for me, that means packing my entire day up into my backpack before I leave for the day. I throw in all of my essentials including my laptop, planner, a notepad, lipgloss, my wallet, keys, pens, workout gear, and my favorite, LIFEWTR (it’s purified and pH balanced for taste!) and head out the door!
Having my LIFEWTR with me from the start of the day makes it infinitely easier for me to stay hydrated throughout the day whether I’m running to my office, to the gym, to a volunteer commitment, or to meet friends for happy hour. Not only do I love the size of the LIFEWTR bottles, I’m obsessed with the colorful designs on the bottles. The bold colors add a little pizazz and inspiration to my day! Also, on the same planning note, if I happen to run out while out and about, it’s so nice to know that LIFEWTR conveniently available at 7-Eleven.
Steps I’ve Taken to Stick to My Resolutions
- Set realistic goals. I aim to drink 100 ounces of water/day. (That’s about 3 of the large LIFEWTR bottles per day!)
- Set yourself up for success by planning ahead. I make sure to pack my workout clothes and water bottle in my bag at the beginning of the day.
- Write your goals down, daily. This is where my planner comes in super handy! I write everything down, otherwise, I’ll forget! Drink 100 ounces of water today! Check. Get in HIIT workout this afternoon! Check.
- Set monthly check-ins for yourself. It might not seem like you’re getting very far in achieving your goal(s) day to day, but when you look at where you were at the beginning of one month compared to the beginning of the next month, you’ll be able to see the bigger picture!
If I can make it through three bottles of LIFEWTR a day, I count that as a win in my book! That PLUS making it to the gym, I’m on cloud nine!
