The Covery Wellness Spa Review

The Covery Wellness Spa is a new spa in New Orleans, located on Magazine Street. They have a handful of locations all across the U.S., but the New Orleans location is locally owned and operated. When I first saw it was opening, I was immediately intrigued! They kindly invited me in to try out a few of the therapies they offer.

The space itself is absolutely stunning. The atmosphere is calming the moment you walk through the doors. I took a quick tour prior to my first treatment session. They have a full service IV room, a hyperbaric oxygen therapy tank, a cold plunge tub, lymphatic drainage compression therapies, cryotherapy, and tons of other wellness services. You can book and pay for one-off services or they offer memberships that are more all-inclusive of the therapies they offer.

My Favorite Therapies

During my first visit, I tried out the red light therapy. I’ve heard amazing things about the benefits so I was excited to try it out. Red light therapy is a non-invasive treatment. You essentially stand between two giant red light panels. The panels employ red and near-infrared wavelengths of light to stimulate cellular function and promote overall wellness. Benefits to red light therapy include enhanced tissue repair, reduced inflammation, and boosts in collagen production. I did a quick ten minute session. I asked the knowledgeable staff how often they recommend red light therapy to see noticeable results. They said consistency is key and recommend this therapy weekly.

Next up, I tried out the infrared sauna. If you follow me on Instagram, you know I love a sauna session! It’s my dream to have one in our home one day. The Covery’s sauna beautiful and thoughtfully designed. From the time and temperature panel inside the sauna to the cold towels outside. I loved every minute of it. The infrared sauna doesn’t get as hot as traditional saunas so you’re able to stay in the sauna for a longer period of time. I did a 35 minute session, and it was amazing.
