Toes In The Sand

The beaches on the Gulf coast are my happy place during the summer months.  I’ve been going there every summer since I can remember.  The white sand and crystal clear blue water can’t be beat!  I packed up for a long weekend in Destin a few weeks ago and snagged two new swimsuits for my trip.

I have to admit that every summer when swimsuit season is approaching I usually venture to Target or Victoria’s Secret to pick up a few new bathing suits that don’t break the bank.  And then it never fails, I end up hating how the suits fit as the material is usually thin and the suit’s quality is pretty mediocre.  I guess the old saying is true, you get what you pay for.  So this year I decided to step up my game and actually do a little swimsuit shopping ahead of time to find a couple of quality suits that I love.

I ordered a few suits from Nordstrom and ended up keeping the La Blanca and Seafolly swimsuits.  I love everything about this La Blanca tropical top.  The print, the halter, the fun back … it’s perfect!  The material is thick and a really nice, quality fabric.  La Blanca also makes a one piece (I’m not a one piece kind of gal, but this one is so cute!) and a more traditional triangle bikini in this same print.

Another great top that I discovered is this Seafolly top.  It can be tied several different ways and even worn strapless as a true bandeau to avoid any tan lines.  It comes in several colors and although I decided to go with the traditional black, I saw a lady on the beach wearing the blue ray color, and it was really cute in person!
