Happy Friday! This was my first full week in DC since January 7th. I was so happy to spend a week at home in my routine. I had a couple of coffee dates, got lots of client work done, and squeezed in my workouts every day this week! I hope you had a great week as well! Let’s jump right in to today’s post!

Monday

On Monday I shared a recap of Michael and I’s house hunting trip to Houston last week. The good news, we found a house! Check out the post to see what neighborhood we’ll be living in!

If you follow along on Instagram Stories, you likely know my love for Philz Coffee – it’s one of the things I’m going to miss when I move to Houston! Phil, if you’re reading this, please come to HTX! πŸ™‚ I met Monica at the Dupont location Monday morning for a coffee date. It was great to catch up since it seemed like forever since I’d seen her! We always have the best chats about blogging, business, and traveling hacking! After a pretty routine work day, I ended the day with my favorite, a 6:30pm date with SoulCycle.

Tuesday

Last week I shared the 2 best small business credit cards to have in your wallet. This week I shared an updated post on what’s ACTUALLY in my wallet (those 2 cards are included!). The post covers every single credit card I currently have in my wallet, why I have each card (all travel related), and how I use the points earned on each card for free travel. If you haven’t read it, I highly recommend checking it out. Full of valuable information on how you can take advantage of credit cards to be able to travel more for less!

Another day, another coffee date at Philz! This time at the Adams Morgan location. I met Serena there to catch up on life. Check out Serena’s amazing illustrations and artwork here!

I switched up my workout on Tuesday and went to a 75 minute yoga class at YogaWorks to end the day. With all of my recent travels, I was lucky if I made it to SoulCycle when I was in DC, but since I’m getting back into my normal routine, I’m incorporating yoga back into my weekly workouts. It’s nice to have a break from spin a few times a week.

Wednesday

On Wednesday I partnered with James Allen to share a little background on Michael’s wedding band. It’s still surreal seeing him with a wedding ring on his left hand. πŸ™‚

I had a fun photoshoot with Kara for Territory Foods Wednesday morning. You likely know I’m a super fan of Territory meals. They’re so convenient, healthy, and delicious! I’m partnering with them this month on a blog post so stay tuned! And if you live in one of their delivery areas or near a pickup spot, you can get $50 off across your first two orders by using the code COBALT at checkout!

I checked another 6:30pm SoulCycle class off on Wednesday!

Thursday

Thursday was the only day of the week that I had no out-of-office meetings. And Michael was in Ohio for the day for work. I had a super productive work-from-home day. I FINALLY snagged this tripod and a remote shooter from Amazon and put it to use! I don’t know why it took me so long to make these two purchases. I shot this Instagram photo using the setup, and it was so easy! And fun too! The tripod is super lightweight and compacts into a pretty tight package. I’m thinking it’s going to be coming on lots of trips in the future! #nomoreselfies

Thursday was Valentine’s Day – I hope you had a great day! I treated myself to an early evening SoulCycle class. Michael was out of town and arrived home late that evening. We’re not big Valentine’s Day people and usually just cook at home. This year was extra minimal since we’ve been busy with getting married, honeymooning, and prepping for a move in a couple of weeks. Lots of stuff on our plate so we had a pretty low key night at home with delicious Territory meals and Jeni’s ice cream. πŸ™‚

Weekend Plans

It’s my last weekend in DC, which I can’t believe. I’m planning on spending time with friends, packing up more of our belongings, and hoping to have a weekend where Michael and I sort of relive a typical weekend from when we first moved here (although, we didn’t have friends when we moved to DC #truth). When we first moved to the city, we would spend hours on the weekend just walking around town, walking to the mall, walking through museums. Weather permitting, I’m hoping to walk down to the mall to visit the National Monument and the Lincoln Memorial one last time as official residents.

Favorite Things This Week

Herschel Supply Pop Quiz Backpack // My ride or die Herschel backpack that I’ve had for close to four years finally fell apart on me (the zipper broke). I used this backpack for travel and as my everyday gym bag. I ordered a new one last week, and decided to go up a size in the backpack. I LOVE the new Pop Quiz size! It has a larger interior and a few more compartments and pockets for little things. I’ve been using it as my gym bag this week and it has been great! Can’t wait to take it on an upcoming trip next week!

Beautycounter Satin Blush (Guava) // I shared my two go-to blushes on Instagram Stories this week. I typically apply a dab of the Beautycounter cream blush stick in Hibiscus and then swipe on a little bit of the Beautycounter Satin Blush. I love both, but if I’m looking for a pop of pink to brighten up my look, I always choose the Satin Blush! The blush is part of a special promotion Beautycounter is sharing this week. You can check it out here!

Topshop Cozy Cardigan // I have this cardigan in two colors (I snagged it during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale). It’s the coziest sweater! Perfect for days at home and for travel! I’ve been wearing it non-stop lately, and I just noticed that it’s currently 50% off! Marked down from $75 to $37!

Cheers to the weekend!
