Week In Review

Cherry Blossom Cocktails at Ocean Prime

Hooray, it’s Friday!  And it’s supposed to be sunny and sixty degrees tomorrow!  Hopelessly waiting for spring to arrive for good on the east coast …

In other news, I’ve been on a real podcast kick lately, and I’m actually planning on dedicating an entire blog post in the next couple of weeks to sharing my faves with you!  One of my current obsessions is the Down the Foxhole podcast where two DC based gals, Casey and Erin, mostly interview other entrepreneurs in and around the DC area.  They start every podcast with the same few questions.  I love one of the questions so much and always find the answers really interesting, so I thought I’d start incorporating the same question and my answer in the Week In Review posts!  The question – What are your favorite things this week?!  It can be a food, a beauty product, something that’s really helped you get through the week, anything really!  So you’ll notice that little section at the bottom of each Week In Review post going forward!  I’d also love to hear from you in the comments on your favorite things from the week!

Now let’s take a little look back …

Monday

On Monday I shared a great wedding guest dress that’s a steal at under $60!  I also included a few other dresses that would be perfect for a wedding or wedding party this spring/summer that are under $100.

Monday evening I took one of my favorite SoulCycle instructors classes – Pauline at the 14th Street studio – she always has the best music!  I love a good Monday evening sweat session!

Tuesday

In this week’s #CobaltTravels post, I shared a little preview of a few upcoming trips I have planned.  I feel like I’ve been booking trips left and right, so there’s lots of travel on the horizon!

Tuesday evening I met a fellow Louisianian, Stacy from Capitol Vintage Charm, for coffee to chat all things blogging!  Love meeting other Louisiana transplants living in the District!  She has a really cool eye for all things vintage so be sure to hop on over to her site and check out her finds!

Wednesday

On Wednesday I rounded up the 10 best statement earrings for spring, and as a bonus, they’re all under $50!

Speaking of spring, I got a few new items in from Nordstrom this week that I’m LOVING!  These Madewell sandals, this pair of J.Crew sandals (under $60), this easy dress (comes in 5 colors, $55), and this adorable top ($39).

Thursday

Thursday was another SoulCycle day, my last one before the weekend!

Weekend Plans

I mentioned a couple of weeks ago that I was supposed to shoot with one of my favorite photographers, Michelle, but it ended up being SO cold that Saturday morning that we rescheduled to this weekend!  The weather looks perfect for tomorrow.  I’m excited to finally be able to shoot with her on Saturday!

Michael and I have plans to hang out with friends Saturday night and watch the final four. I’m all in on the Sister Jean band wagon!

And Sunday is Easter!  After mass, Michael and I have reservations at Le Diplomate – our favorite fancy place to get a burger!  We both gave up meat for lent so I’m reallllllly looking forward to that brunch date!

Favorite Things This Week

The first installment of my favorite things this week!

Charlotte Tillbury Healthy Glow // I mentioned this new find on Instagram Stories this week, and y’all freaked out!  This stuff is magic, not kidding.  It comes out as a white, thin-ish cream, but once you apply it to your face it magically turns into the perfect tan color.  Not too tan, just a beachy glow tan.  It’s amazing and completely worth the price!

Levi’s Straight Jeans // I’ve been wanting a pair of light-washed, cropped denim.  I ordered these on a whim with a gift card I had, and I’m in love!  They’re perfectly high-waisted, have a button-fly, are a great light wash, and they have a frayed, cropped hem.  I can’t wait to style them!  You’ll likely see them here on the blog next week.  They run true to size and don’t really stretch too much.

Summer House // Michael was traveling for work this week, and my guilty pleasure when he’s away is Bravo TV!  I really don’t watch any other reality television except for alllll the Bravo shows!  Summer House is definitely one of my faves!  I got all caught up this week, and now I’m ready for the season finale on Monday.  Anyone else embarrassingly obsessed with this show?!

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great weekend!
