This week was a good one! Productive on the work front, squeezed in lots of social time post-work, had a chance to catch up with a few friends, and the Capitals are going to the Stanley Cup Finals! I think the fact that this week is ending with a long, holiday weekend also didn’t hurt the positive vibes happening this week. I hope you had an equally good week yourself! Let’s take a look back before getting into this Friday, shall we?!
Monday
On Monday I met up with my friend Molly (the wellness queen!) for a coffee date at The Line Hotel. If you’re visiting DC anytime soon and looking for a really cool place to stay, I can’t recommend this spot enough. Not only are the rooms unique and not hotel-ish at all, there’s a great coffee shop, bar, and restaurant all on site.
Here on the blog, I shared how to style a sleeveless kimono, which if you read the post, you know that my “kimono” is actually a sleeveless shirt dress that I unbuttoned and styled as a kimono! Love a good multi-function piece!
I ended my day with a SoulCycle sweat session. Nothing better than a Monday workout class to set the tone for the week.
Tuesday
I’ve been dabbling in morning workouts, which is a totally new thing for me. I hit up the 7:00 AM SoulCycle class on Tuesday. It was a nice way to start the day. It’s especially nice when I know I have evening commitments. Making time in the morning to workout on those days ensures I get a sweat session in!
Tuesday was a super exciting and fun day … for one, I had the opportunity to record an episode for one of my favorite podcasts, Down the Foxhole! I love Casey and Erin’s podcast – they’re right here in DC but their pods are so great for anyone to listen to – highly recommend! They had me on the show to chat about all the legal things – contracts in the creative space in particular. The episode hasn’t aired yet, but I’ll be sure to let you know when it does!
There were two fun events on Tuesday evening that I attended. One was with SCOUT bags – obsessed with their beach bags – and one was with a group of DC travel bloggers! I love the travel community here in DC, they’re a fun group so it’s always nice to meet up with them!
And here on the blog, I shared a credit card (points and miles) post for this week’s #cobaltchroniclestravels post!
Wednesday
On Wednesday, I shared six summer essentials to add to your closet in a splurge vs. steal roundup! Putting together that post had me lusting after all the summer things! I’ll likely take advantage of a few of the Memorial Day sales going on this weekend to scoop up a few items (check out the sales below!).
If you follow along on Instagram (if you aren’t, hop to it!), you likely saw that I took over LUNA’s Instagram Stories on Wednesday! I had so much fun shopping the customer appreciation party they had this week! If you’re not near one of their stores (Atlanta, Charleston, Charlotte, Bethesda), be sure to check out their Instagram page, you can shop directly from there!
I ended the day catching up with Monica and Serena over margaritas on the patio at Los Cuates. The weather on Wednesday was what early summer dreams are made of!
Thursday
I hit up another 7:00 AM SoulCycle class on Thursday, and it was great! I spent the evening with Winston at PR at Partners getting my hair done. I shared a sneak peek on Insta Stories, but my hair is the lightest it has ever been, and I love it!
Weekend Plans
Michael and I are (shockingly) staying in town for the long weekend! We’ve had visitors the past two weekends so I’m excited to lay low over the next few days. We’ll likely sprinkle in a few dinners with friends, but other than that, I’ll just be relaxing here in the district! I hope you have fun Memorial Day weekend plans ahead of you!
Memorial Day Sales
In lieu of this week’s Favorite Things, I thought I’d share a few awesome sales happening now through the weekend!
