6 Summer Closet Essentials

1. Something Yellow // If you’ve done any spring or summer shopping, you’ve probably noticed that yellow is everywhere!  I love the idea of pairing a fun yellow top with white denim or denim shorts!  I’ve been eyeing this top from Madewell for weeks now.  It’s a steal at $45, a reason I should pull the trigger, right?!  The splurge version of this top isn’t really even that big of a splurge.  Coming in at $68, this fun tassel top from Anthropologie!  Obsessed.  It’s so perfect for summer!
    

2. Maxi Dress // I usually purchase one new maxi dress each summer season.  I love having one on hand for summer nights in the city, beach trips, or even a casual wedding.  I’ve been wanting to splurge on a Yumi Kim maxi dress for YEARS.  All of her dresses are so beautiful, airy, and flowy.  I’m not sure if this year will be the year, but eventually I want to get my hands on one of her beautiful pieces!  If you’re looking for a super cute steal, this ASOS maxi dress is such a fun color and on sale for $32!
    

3. Flat Sandals // I’ve had my eye on both of these pairs of criss-cross sandals!  The steal version, this Madewell pair, has tons of great reviews so I’m thinking they’re the ones!  But the splurge pair is so cute (especially love the blush version!).
    

4. Denim Shorts // It’s summer.  You definitely need a pair of denim shorts in your closet!  Another item I’ve had my eye on for years, and for some reason or another, I’ve never pulled the trigger … One Teaspoon denim shorts!  They’re a bit of a splurge for denim shorts at right under $100, but they’re so cute!  My go-to denim short is always a pair of Levi’s.  Love this longer pair in my favorite style, the 501!
    

5. Statement Earrings // Statement earrings are a must for summer!  My go-to for affordable, fun statement earrings is always BaubleBar.  Even better, Nordstrom carries the brand (free shipping and returns!).  Love this fun tassel pair that comes in tons of different colors!  A newish-to-me spot to look for really unique jewelry is Sweet & Spark.  They specialize in finding vintage gems like these swirl statement earrings (really still a steal at only $58!).
    

6. Espadrille Wedges // Last but not least, if you don’t already have a pair of espadrille wedges in your closet, you need a pair ASAP!  They’re super versatile, comfortable, and the perfect summer heel!  I splurged on this Marc Fisher pair a few years ago, and they’re still a summer staple in my closet!  Worth the splurge!  If you’re looking for a more affordable option, this pair is super cute and has tons of great reviews!
