Week In Review | Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Preview

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Preview What I Bought | Cobalt Chronicles | Washington, DC Fashion Blogger

Happy Friday!  There’s so much going on this week!  Between regularly scheduled blog posts, the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, prepping for the launch of my new website over at ashleehightower.com, finalizing all plans for a workshop I’m hosting next week, and Prime Day happening this coming Monday/Tuesday, my head has been spinning this week!  All in a good way, of course.

Let’s break it down in this week’s week in review.

Monday

On Monday I shared my last preview post for the NSale, which included a giveaway!  A winner was chosen – check out the post to see if you won!

Monday was one of those days where I sat at my desk (aka my kitchen table), on my computer all day long.  I finally ventured out for a 6:30pm SoulCycle class, which to my surprise was a Taylor Swift ride!  Such a fun class!

Tuesday

On Tuesday I shared a recap of my trip to Colorado!  If you’re heading to Frisco, Breckenridge, Keystone, or Vail this summer, be sure to check it out!

The first half of my day on Tuesday was filled with in-person meetings, one of which was with my friend Caroline who has her own Etsy shop!  If you’re in need of a cheeky graphic tee or coffee mug, she’s you’re girl!  After a couple of morning meetings, I met up with Courtney of Candid Tea for lunch.  If you’re into teas, definitely give hers a try!  Not only is the tea amazing, but her branding is on point!

I ended the day with a sweat session at SoulCycle!

Wednesday

On Wednesday here on the blog I shared my first wedding related blog post!  Check out the post for a little background on how I chose my bridesmaids plus how I asked them to be part of our wedding!

If you follow along on Instagram Stories, you likely saw that I went in for a touch up microblading session for my eyebrows on Thursday!  You can read all about my full experience with microblading here!  If you’re in the Maryland/DC/Virginia area, I HIGHLY recommend Meaghan at Dollistic!  She’s amazing!

Thursday

The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale kicked off on Thursday with early access for Nordstrom card holders (the sale opens up to everyone next Friday!).  I shared my initial top 10 picks from the sale.  I went in-store Thursday afternoon to shop.  I’m excited to share a little sneak peek of a few items I snagged!  I’m waiting on my full order to arrive – I’ll have a full try on session/fit review of everything I purchased live next week here on the blog for you!  In the meantime, here are a few of my favorites!

This sweater is everything!  It’s super soft, love the colors, and the slight ballon sleeves make it extra fun.  I’m wearing a size 6.  Topshop pieces generally run a little small, so I’d suggest ordering a size up.

Sale Price: $44.90  After Sale Price: $68

A full look at the sweater paired with my favorite Madewell jeans!  This particular pair is from last season, but there’s an almost identical pair included in the sale!  These blush mules are also part of the sale!

I’m in love with this suede jacket!  It’s perfect for fall, and if you live in a warmer climate, it can easily take you through winter too!  I picked up this tee last year, but it’s included in this year’s sale – it’s available in 8 colors and under $12!

Moto Jacket | Tee | Jeans

The quality of this faux leather jacket is really, really great!  I can hardly believe it’s under $60!  It’s seriously so soft, not cheap feeling at all!  I’m wearing a size 4.  I paired it with an easy white tee (also in the sale!), and my favorite black pair of Madewell jeans (in the sale too!).

My favorite shoes so far!  These leopard mules are to die for!  They look even better in person.  I sized down a 1/2 size in these.  They’re available in 3 other colors!

Thursday night I attended a grand opening for a new Sephora concept store in Eastern Market – a Sephora Studio!  This Sephora Studio is only the third location to open in the U.S., the others being in NYC and Boston.  It’s a really cool space, and of course I couldn’t leave empty handed!  I picked up a few of my everyday staples like a Beauty Blender, IT Cosmetics CC Cream, and Living Proof Dry Shampoo, and picked out a few new items to try out – Lancôme Monsieur Big Mascara, Belif Aqua Bomb moisturizer, and Ole Henriksen Brightening Creme!

Weekend Plans

I’m excited for tonight because Michael and I are having a little staycation at Pod Hotel here in DC!  We’ve stayed at their sister property Avenue Suites, so I’m excited to check out this cool, new downtown spot!  Be sure to follow along on Instagram Stories as I’ll be sharing a lot there!

Favorite Things This Week

I’m going to skip over this week’s favorite things since I pretty much already included tons of my favorites above from the #NSale and Sephora!  Have a wonderful weekend!
