Week In Review | NYC Edition

Week In Review | NYC Edition | Cobalt Chronicles | Washington, DC | Style Blogger

I think everyone can agree that this was the longest, short week.  Michael and I made it back to DC around 10pm on Monday night after an all-day travel day.  And I’m coming at you from NYC today!  To say I’m looking forward to sleeping in on Saturday morning is an understatement.  Let’s take a look back at the week before we get into the weekend …

Monday

Michael and I spent all day Monday traveling back to DC from California.  Traveling across the country is no joke!  We first drove from Napa to Sacramento, then caught a flight from Sacramento to St. Louis, then jumped on another flight from St. Louis to Baltimore, and lastly, we snagged an Uber to head back to DC (a 40-ish minute ride).  It was a long day but totally worth it!

I’ll have a full recap of our time in Napa here on the blog next week!

Tuesday

On Tuesday I shared a recap of August and a little sneak peek of what’s ahead this month, plus the CUTEST jumpsuit!  September is shaping up to be a HEAVY travel month.

I played catch up all day on Tuesday after mostly staying away from my computer during our trip out west.  I ended the day with a much needed SoulCycle sweat session!

Wednesday

It has been unbelievably hot in DC this week.  I’m itching for cooler weather, so despite the summer-like temps, I shared 5 sweaters for fall in Wednesday’s blog post.  I own 3 of the 5 sweaters, and you can bet I’ll be wearing them non-stop once fall officially arrives!

Wednesday was another catch up day, knocking out blog tasks and catching up on contract client emails.  I went to an evening solidcore class in hopes to sweat out the last of all the wine I drank over the weekend.  😉  I ended the night on the National Mall with an amazing group of women at {the district} haven event hosted by my friend Anna Meyer.  It was an absolutely beautiful night on the mall.  Anna had a gorgeous picnic spread and sweetgreen provided salads for everyone.  Check out a few pics from the night here!

Thursday

Thursday was a day full of in-person meetings.  One of my meetings took me to the new Philz Coffee in Dupont Circle.  It’s a big space and great for working!  If you’re in the area, definitely check it out!  My go-to coffee order: Soooo Good, Philz’s Way.  🙂

I ended the day with a sweat session at SoulCycle and then biked home using Capital Bikeshare!

Weekend Plans

I took the early train (5:20AM, to be exact) up to NYC today (Friday) for a meeting, and I’m making a day of it.  I’m bopping around the city and grabbing lunch with a friend before catching the 4:30PM train back to DC.  A busy and quick trip.  Since I was in California last weekend, and I’m heading to Portland, OR next weekend, I wanted to spend the weekend in my own bed.

I’m looking forward to a chill Saturday and Sunday filled with lots of football!  Ole Miss, LSU, and the Cowboys!  Along with the cooler fall weather, I’ve been looking forward to football Saturdays and NFL Sundays.

Favorite Things This Week

Amazon Floral Maxi Dress c/o//

Y’all love this dress as much as I do!  I wore it to a few vineyards last weekend, and y’all went crazy about it on my Instagram Story DMs!  It’s SO good!  And the best part, it’s available in over 30 different patterns and colors, and it’s only $30!  Craziness!  For sizing reference, I’m wearing an XS in this photo.

Colleen Rothschild Clarifying Detox Mask c/o //

After spending a few days in Napa drinking allll the wine and eating allll the food, I was in need of a detox.  In every sense of the word.  I love this Colleen Rothschild detox mask. It’s a clay mask.  The clay dries and essentially feels like it’s pulling out all of the gunk when it’s washed off.  It has been my go-to mask lately!

Under Armour Sports Bra c/o//

Speaking of detoxing, I made it a point to work out every single day this week.  I picked up this sports bra at an Under Armour event a few weeks ago, and I can’t stop wearing it.  I love that it’s full coverage and goes pretty far down on my waist.  Perfect to pair with high waisted leggings for SoulCycle class!
