Week In Review

Work Wear / Gold Flats

TopShop Top (only $45!) | Black Trousers (only $55!) | Sole Society Gold Flats (last year, similar, similar)

Happy Friday!  I shared the photo above earlier this week on Instagram.  I’m trying to get in the habit of sharing more of my everyday work wear outfits on Instagram and at least on Instagram Stories as y’all seem to like those posts!  I always get in work wear ruts.  Sharing the looks with you all helps me to get more creative with what I’m wearing to the office everyday and hopefully provides some work wear inspiration for you too!

Ok let’s jump into this week’s Week In Review …

Monday

Last Friday I had my final touch up session for my brows – I had them microbladed.  In Monday’s post I shared everything you need to know about the microblading process!  I’m thrilled with the results and would highly recommend it to anyone!  Check out the post for more information, and definitely let me know if you have any questions about it!

Tuesday

On Tuesday I shared a new-to-me wine brand that I LOVE!  I’m going to swing by the grocery on my way home today to pick up another bottle of their red blend (the Crush) for the weekend!  Also included in the post is a super easy fall football recipe!

Wednesday

I had planned to share a new fall outfit post with you on Wednesday, but the item that I am really excited to share isn’t available for purchase online until this upcoming Wednesday, soooo stay tuned!

Thursday

Thursday night I met up with Victoria and Monica for Chaia tacos and a preview party to celebrate INGLOT cosmetics’ new store opening here in DC (technically, Tysons).  It’s a new-to-me cosmetics brand, but Victoria (the beauty blogging/vlogging queen) assured me it is legit!

Weekend Plans

Michael has been traveling for work all week and has a bachelor party this weekend so I’ve been catching up on all of my Bravo shows and This Is Us!  😉  I only have two set plans this weekend, a Zengo Cycle class that my friend Phoebe is hosting to celebrate Zengo’s anniversary and a massage.  Not too shabby!  Other than that I’ll be parked on my couch working on a few blogging and contract related things and watching lots of football!

Other Happenings

  • Washington Ideas: I mentioned this last week, but as a reminder, if you’re in D.C., check out this upcoming event that you don’t want to miss!  It’s NEXT WEEK!  The Atlantic is hosting its annual Washington Ideas event September 26 – 28.  Among the amazing group of speakers slated for the event are Melanie Whelan, CEO of SoulCycle, celebrity chef and restaurant mogul José Andrés, Martha Raddatz, chief global affairs correspondent at ABC News (one of my favorite news correspondents!), Christina Tosi, Founder and CEO of Milkbar.  I’ll be attending, and you should be too!  You’ll receive $25 off of the ticket price by using the code COBALT at checkout.  You can purchase tickets here.

  • Cocktails & Community: An Evening with Lady Farmer: A launch party for a sustainable apparel brand founded by a mother-daughter team based in Maryland.  They are on a mission to educate people about the problems in our current “fast fashion” industry and want people to see fiber as an agricultural product; so people start to care about where their clothes come from as much as they care about where their food comes from. Lady Farmer will be launching their crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter on September 28th to fund the manufacturing of our first clothing line, which will be available Spring 2018. You can learn more about Lady Farmed here and here.
