Favorite Hair Products

I know what you’re thinking … I don’t usually (ok, never) post about beauty products but hear me out on this one. Over the past 6 to 8ish months I’ve really changed up my hair routine, and I am KICKING myself for not getting on board sooner.

My friends have been nagging me for years about how often I wash my hair. Confession, I used to wash my hair 2 times a day. TWO TIMES A DAY. I decided to take the plunge and start training my hair to go at least every other day without a wash. Enter dry shampoo. The best thing that has happened to my hair. Seriously, what was I doing with my life before dry shampoo?! I’ve tried a lot of different brands over the past few months, and I always go back to this drugstore brand. If I’m working with day old hair, in addition to the dry shampoo, this Powder Play product is amazing. Sprinkle a little on your roots, and it provides a nice grit and adds volume.

If I’m working with a wash, my all time favorite shampoo + conditioner combo is coconut milk. Post shower I use a simple comb to get out all of the tangles and then apply either this Oribe creme or this Bumble and Bumble creme (both work wonders when blowing out your hair). I think I’m becoming more partial to the Oribe creme because of the scent alone. It smells like heaven. Sometimes I’ll spritz in a bit of this Aveda Pure Abundance Style Prep. It also smells amazing and adds a little texture.

No matter what kind of hair I’m working with, I always apply the Oribe Texturizing Spray because I’m addicted to it. It adds the perfect amount of texture and makes your hair smell like you just walked out of the salon.

I know that sounds like a lot of stuff to put in your hair, but I’m telling you, it’s not.

Lastly, I FINALLY figured out how to blow dry my hair straight (to avoid using a flat iron). It’s all in the tools. This brush (it has to have these type of bristles) and the nozzle on the end of the hair dryer are the keys to a successful, at home blow out. I know the hair dryer is pricey, but you’ll have it forever so it’s worth it in my opinion. Whenever it is time to buy a new hair dryer, I always start by reading all the latest product reviews and news. That way you can hear what real people have to say about the products you are interested in purchasing. Websites such as https://buyersimpact.co.uk/ are a useful resource, as they contain reviews about various different electronics and gadgets, as well as beauty products.

If my hair is frizzy or has crazy static, I’ll apply a touch of hair oil to tame it. The only product below that I don’t currently use, but want to try, is the Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray. I’ve heard good things. Has anyone tried it? Love it? Hate it?
