So it’s supposed to be close to 70 degrees in D.C. this weekend.  I’m not complaining one bit because I know it’s inevitable that the district will soon become a frozen tundra.  Even though I’m enjoying the warmer temps, it’s a bit hard to get into the holiday spirit when I can’t cozy up in any of my fuzzy sweaters, blanket scarves, or warm coats.  Enter this outfit.

You may have noticed (here and here) that I’m a fan of the Old Navy swing dress.  It’s just so good!  It’s the easiest little dress to throw on with anything to immediately look a little more put together and dressed up.  For some reason Old Navy just recently came out with this black swing dress.  It’s by far my favorite.  I wear it to work on the regular with tights and ankle boots.  I’ve worn it to football games with booties.  I’ve worn it with a giant blanket scarf and boots.  Basically you can style this puppy a million different ways.  Today’s look might be one of my favorites though.

This outfit is PERFECT for these warmer winter days.  By adding a cropped fur vest, it makes the whole look a lot more festive without adding too much additional warmth.  The over the knee boots also add a touch of winter to the outfit, and with bare legs, they add just the right amount of coverage so that you look seasonally appropriate.  And when the temps do drop?  Just add a coat top!

For sizing reference, as I’ve mentioned before, I prefer the petite size in this particular Old Navy dress as it hits a little higher above my knee.  I’m wearing a size XS-Petite here.  The dress is pretty forgiving throughout the bodice, but the sleeves can be a bit snug.  The OTK boots fit true to size.
