Michael and I are leaving London and heading to Paris today (we’ll probably be well on our way by the time you’re reading this!) so I thought it would be totally appropriate to share this outfit with you today! The neck scarf always feels a bit Parisian to me.
The neck scarf made a big come back last year and is definitely here to stay through this spring and summer. I love throwing it on with an otherwise neutral look to add a bit of flare. For this particular look I decided to keep it simple with a black and white neck tie, and while the colors are simple, it does have a fun design to it. I prefer this style of scarf – it’s thinner and silkier than a traditional bandana, which makes it much easier to tie!
You can tie the scarf two different ways. Here I chose to tie it tight, almost like a choker, because of the high crew neckline on the tee. But the scarf can also be tied a little looser for a more relaxed feel (more like a necklace).
I snagged this neck tie at American Eagle of all places! I was picking up another pair of my favorite white jeans and saw that they have the BEST selection of little scarves. So many fun colors and different prints – how cute is this flamingo one and this one is perfect for Memorial Day (would be so cute with a white dress!).
I’m off to catch the train to our next stop – be sure to follow along on Instagram as I’ve been sharing our days via Instagram Stories!
