Happy Monday! So a little story about this coat. I’ve been lusting over it for about a year now. I just couldn’t pull the trigger last year because of the price. However, after spending my first winter in DC last year, I realized that it would be worth the investment to have a nicer, higher quality coat. And I was constantly looking for a coat with the faux fur trim. So this year when J.Crew brought back the J.Crew Chateau Parka, I knew I had to have it. Santa was super generous this year and knew I’d been lusting after it … thanks Santa! 😉 I couldn’t love it more! The quality is amazing, as you would expect. It’s super warm and the faux fur is detachable for those days when you want to look a little more low key.
As a sizing note, it took quite a few trial and errors for me to get the right size. I ended up with a 00. I am normally NOT a 00 by any means, but I do usually have to size down in J.Crew outerwear. This style has a little bit of an a-line to it so it’s pretty loose throughout the torso. As you can see, I’m wearing a pretty thin blouse with it here, but it fits nicely over thicker sweaters too.
As a side note, be expecting to see these loafers make repeat appearances on Cobalt Chronicles because they are my new favorites! From the tassels, to the metallic color, to the whole loafer style, I’m obsessed.
