My Fall Uniform

I got my first taste of fall last weekend in Boston.  One of my favorite things about living in the Northeast is that we truly get to experience four seasons.  There are certain things I love about each.  Fall means the changing of the leaves, football season, and sweater weather.

I love how fall mornings start out crisp and the day eventually warms up to what I like to call the perfect “walk around” temperature.  Saturday in Boston was just that.  We woke up to a cool morning and by the time we were walking around Newbury Street looking for a lunch spot it had warmed up just enough that I had to push the sleeves of my sweater up just a touch.

Even though it’s only the first week of September, I’m dubbing this look my fall uniform.  The number of times I’ve already worn all of these pieces … well let’s just say I’ve gotten my money’s worth!

My Fall Uniform

You’ve seen me in this Madewell tie front top before.  I love a good front tuck – the tie front top offers a nice alternative!  It’s perfect alone or paired with a cardigan or jacket.

I’ve been waiting to bust out this long cardigan for a couple of months now!  It’s thicker than your average cardigan and longer, which I love!  It’s cozy without being too overwhelming.

I picked up these Madewell jeans a few weeks ago and can’t stop wearing them!  I love the destructed hem, the wash, and the high-waisted button fly.  The fit is incredible and they are so incredibly soft while still being true jeans (not jeggings).

If you follow me on Instagram, you know I’m obsessed with these mule loafers.  I wear them all. the. time.  I’m probably going to invest in another pair of flat mules soon because I get so much wear out of these (eyeing these, these and these).  Not only are they perfect with jeans, I wear them a lot with black pants to work!

Speaking of work, I can’t get enough of my work tote.  I originally got this bag solely for work, but I ended up carrying it  all weekend long.  The leather is gorgeous, and the bag is super simple.  It’s lightweight but holds so much!

Lastly, my Quay Australia sunglasses.  I never leave home without them!  I lost my original pair at a Nats game a few weeks ago, and immediately ordered a new pair when I got home.  Quay is known for their oversized frames, and while a lot of their styles are as big as 60mm, I like the smaller (they aren’t really that small) version – these are 50 mm.  And at $50, my wallet wasn’t hurting too bad from the misplaced pair.

Love that simple tee and so glad you had fun in Boston! Agree re: the seasons–it’s definitely up there as one of my favorite parts of living further north!
