New Balance 327 Fit Review
My New Balance 327 sneakers are my favorite pair of sneakers I’ve purchased in quite sometime! I love that they can be styled with athleisure wear as well as with a casual denim look. They’re chic and stylish and give cool girl vibes in a retro 90s kind of way. They’re also a hot commodity! Every colorway that New Balance releases in the 327 style tends to sell out almost immediately. It’s really astounding!
After lusting after several colors and ultimately missing the boat as a result of the quick depletion of sizes, I finally snagged a pair in the Sea Salt colorway. One big issue, I had to order three different pairs to get the sizing right! I loved the style and was lucky to find several sizes in stock in this specific color. I finally landed on sizing one whole size up from my usual size 7. Don’t waste your time on ordering and returning and ordering again … Check out my size guide below!
New Balance 327 Sizing Guide
When I first ordered my New Balance 327s, I went with my usual size 7. They were way too snug. I immediately exchanged them for a half size larger. I thought these fit perfectly! However, after wearing them for a day of errands with my medium weight Under Armour ankle socks, my toes were aching. I returned them and tried out one whole size larger than my usual size. I ended up keeping these!
However, the pair I kept are a little big, but with the right socks, they work perfectly. I have pretty banged up toes as a result of my long-distance running days. I think this is the main reason I had to go up a full size. I don’t think this is typical.
Overall, I’d generally recommend sizing up one half size larger than your usual shoe size for the best fit. I think for most people, going up one half size should work perfectly.
One thing to keep in mind … Take note of whether you’re looking at a men’s or women’s New Balance 327 shoe. The styles look identical, but the sizing for the men’s styles are obviously very different. I only have experience with the women’s New Balance 327.
What Socks Work Best with New Balance 327
I typically wear my 327s with either these beige no show socks or my traditional black ankle socks. I’ve recently added in these tall ankle socks and crew socks by Hanes.
When I wear the New Balance 327 sneakers with my no show socks, they definitely fit a little loose. The thickness of the Under Armour ankle socks is the perfect fit. For a throwback look (or on trend, depending on how you look at it), I recently tried out these tall ankle socks and these crew socks. While I like the look, it’s definitely a harder one to pull off, and frankly, with the stifling summer temps on the horizon here in New Orleans, both of these pairs feel very hot. I’ll be sticking with my beige and black ankle socks.
