It’s Coming … The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale!

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale | Everything You Need to Know

The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is one of the best sales of the year and one that I look forward to every year! The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale offers new fall arrivals at discounted prices, but only for a limited time before the pieces go to normal pricing.

MY APPROACH

I’m pretty selective in shopping the sale for myself. I usually always invest in a nice pair of boots for fall/winter and add a pair of jeans and a sweater or cardigan (or two) to my closet during the sale. I hope to encourage you to really examine your closet, see what holes are there for the upcoming fall season, and make a plan to fill those holes with quality pieces that will last for more than one season.

With that said, I definitely think the sale is worth shopping as Nordstrom releases new fall items at discounted rates. There are always good, quality items included in the sale. Just focus on what you need and try not to get caught up in the frenzy of purchasing items just because they’re on sale.

I also like to shop my wardrobe staples like Natori bras and Hanky Panky panties.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE SALE

It’s the best time to pick up staples that will carry you trough fall and winter. The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale features brand new items at sale prices. This is the time to be thinking about what you need to add to your closet for fall.

WHY ALL THE HYPE?!

All the hype happens because every single item that is on sale is brand new.  During the Anniversary Sale, Nordstrom debuts their fall pieces at sale prices, but only for a short period of time – then a few weeks later, everything goes back to normal, full price. And it’s true, every year, items do sell out pretty quickly.

NORDSTROM ANNIVERSARY SALE PREP

To prepare for the sale, you’ll want to take note of the dates below. Keep in mind that items definitely sell out and remember that Nordstrom always offers FREE shipping and FREE returns! Take advantage of this generous return policy and purchase items that will fill the gaps in your fall wardrobe. And if the items don’t work for you, actually return the items. Don’t keep things you won’t wear on repeat.

TIP: If you’re a Nordstrom credit card holder, you get to shop earlier than the general public. I’ve had the card for 5 years now, and I can honestly say it is worth signing up! I know what you’re thinking, you don’t need another credit card. All you have to do is be a Nordstrom credit card holder to access the sale early. You don’t have to use it any other time of the year except for during the early access. I recommend that the early access time period is the ONLY time you use it (there are so many other great credit cards to use on everyday purchases to earn valuable points!).

I wanted to give you a heads up about the credit card and early access today so you have plenty of time to sign up and receive the card prior to the sale if that’s something you’re interested in – early access opens on July 6th (depending on your cardmember status)! The sale opens to the public on July 15th!

IMPORTANT DATES TO REMEMBER

I know it seems like the sale lasts for a while, and although it does, popular items do sell out quickly. Mark your calendars! If you get the card, you’ll automatically have “Influencer” status.

ITEMS TO LOOK OUT FOR

Since I now live in a warmer climate (hi, New Orleans), my strategy is a bit different since fall weather is still pretty far off. This year I’m looking for a pair of boots, a couple of new cardigans, tops to wear with jeans, and new Madewell denim.

The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale preview digital catalog is available here! You can browse the sale items ahead of time and save items to your Wish List.

Thanks for the reminder! Your post last year about the Nordstrom sale was super helpful (and actually how I was introduced to Nordstrom), so thank you.

Oh yay! I’m so glad you found it (and last year’s post) helpful! It really is my favorite sale of the year (better thank Black Friday, IMO!) so I’m glad others enjoy it too!
