Growing up in Louisiana (Shreveport, specifically) has influenced nearly every aspect of my life, including my style. Louisiana is generally pretty laid back, where jeans and tees are, for the most part, acceptable, but keep in mind it’s still the South and, I’m sure you know, we like to curl our hair and get dolled up every once in a while. 😉
I haven’t lived in the bayou state for quite sometime now, but I believe I’ve taken its laid back style vibe with me even to one of the most conservatively dressed cities in the nation. DC has quite the reputation for being full of robots dressed in an array of dark suits. But in all reality, unless you work on the Hill, most of DC is pretty relaxed.
When I look back at how my style has evolved over the years, one brand that has been with me since the beginning is Old Navy. From back in middle school when bootcut jeans and graphic tees were all the rage to now where I’m always snagging easy tops, cozy sweaters, and every version of the Rockstar skinny jean from Old Navy! Old Navy currently has some great pieces for fall like this blush sweater and this curved-hem sweater (I love sizing up one size for that cozy/slouchy fit!). Old Navy is also one of my favorite places to grab scarves and everyday bags (remember this one?! I wore it to death!).
