10 Things I’m Grateful For

10 Things I'm Grateful For | Cobalt Chronicles | Washington, DC | Style Blogger

I wore this gorgeous dress and my new favorite shoes (my first pair of Loeffler Randal’s!) to the cocktail party on Thursday night at The Blog Societies Conference.  I wanted to share this look with you because I’m in love with every single piece!  When I sat down to write the post, I just felt so extremely grateful.  Grateful that I’m able to write every single day about things that inspire me and that I hope inspire you too.  Grateful for the opportunity to attend The Blog Societies conference this year.  Grateful that I get to connect with you and do this for a living.  I’m grateful for so many things!  So today I thought I’d share 10 random things I’m grateful for!  It’s always nice to put gratitude down on paper (or in this case, on the internet), right?!

10 Things I’m Grateful For

My Blogging Community // Like I mentioned, I wore this look on Thursday at #TBSCon.  After a weekend surrounded by blogging friends that I’ve met mostly online and the opportunity to meet so many new-to-me bloggers, I was reminded of how grateful I am that my “blogging” friends have turned into real life friends.  I have a great group of friends here in DC that I would have never met except for blogging!

Michael // Michael shot these photos!  I couldn’t get through my day-to-day life without him.

Working From Home // Since leaving my 9-5, I’ve been mostly working from home.  It’s something I was working towards for years.  To finally be able to control my own schedule has been a dream come true.

My Family // I mean, I couldn’t leave out my OGs!  😉  I’m so grateful to have a such a loving and supportive family in my mom, dad, sister, brother-in-law, and soon-to-be McHugh family (Michael’s fam).  Now I just need to figure out how we can all live closer to one another …

Calling DC Home // I love the city I live in!  No matter where my travels take me, I always love coming home to the District.  I feel so fortunate to be able to call the Nation’s Capital my home.

Summertime // My favorite time of the year is winding down.  I love the warm temps, the long days, and the more relaxed vibe in the city during the summer months.

My Friends // Although I don’t live close to a lot of my childhood, college, or law school friends, we always pick up right where we left off, and I’m so grateful for that!

Travel // I’m grateful for the opportunity to travel as much as I do!  It’s what refuels my tank and brings so much inspiration into my life!

Health // Grateful to be able to attend my beloved SoulCycle classes and go on long walks!

Happiness // I’m typically a pretty happy and positive person, which I never take for granted.  Not only am I thankful for my physical health, I’m grateful for my mental health as well!

Outfit Details

I’m in love with every part of this outfit!  This dress was my first-ever purchase from & Other Stories.  I’m not sure why it has taken me this long to shop there.  They have such fun, feminine pieces that won’t break the bank!  This dress is all kinds of comfy.  Plus it has pockets and it’s super flattering.  It’s also under $90, which is a steal in my opinion!  It’s pretty roomy and the neckline is elastic so it’s easy to slip on.  It runs pretty true to size, I’m wearing a size 0 (for length reference, I’m 5’4″).

The shoes were a major sale find, and lucky for you, they’re still on major markdown AND available in several colors.  I’ve been eyeing these Loeffler Randal sandals all summer long.  And I’ve had a crush on Loeffler Randal shoes in general for years.  However, they’re a bit pricey.   So when I saw this style marked down from $350 to $130, I jumped on them!  And let’s just say, they didn’t disappoint.  They’re chic and comfortable, a winning combination in my book!  They run pretty TTS, unless you have a wide foot.  If that’s the case, size up a 1/2 size.

Fossil recently sent over this gorgeous bag from their fall line, and I love everything about it!  I love the dark green color and the lattice work on the front (there’s suede incorporated with the leather!).  I have this same bag in a different color and carry it non-stop.  It’s safe to say this is going to be a fall staple!

Last but not least, my Kendra Scott tassel earrings.  If you haven’t seen this style in person, they’re made of raffia material and each tassel can be removed (the earrings come with three tassels each).  I’ve gotten so much wear out of these!
