Week In Review

Week In Review | Cobalt Chronicles | Washington, DC | Style Blogger

Happy Friday!  One week later and I think I’m finally caught up on sleep after attending The Blog Societies #TBSCon last weekend.  After traveling for the majority of the last two weeks (Shreveport, Atlanta, and Birmingham), I was happy to spend most of this week at home in DC!  Let’s jump into a look back at the week, shall we?!

Monday

I flew back to DC from Birmingham, AL early Monday morning.  After #TBSCon, I made my way over to Birmingham to catch up with friends.  I lived there before I moved to DC!  It’s a short 2.5 hour drive from Atlanta.  I loved catching up with friends that I don’t see often enough, and I loved seeing all of the new spots that have popped up in Birmingham since I last visited three years ago!  My favorite new (to me) spots were Caveat Coffee (pictured above), Revelator Coffee, and Brat Bröt.

I was a zombie most of the day on Monday after spending Thursday-Sunday on the go and then waking up at 3:45am to catch my flight home.  But I still made it to SoulCycle Monday evening!  I find that sweating it out after a fun weekend of traveling is the best way to get back into a routine.

Here on the blog I shared my summer reading list!  I’m currently in the middle of All We Ever Wanted!

Tuesday

In Tuesday’s #CobaltChroniclesTravels post, I shared tips and tricks on how to book an American Airlines flight with Chase Ultimate Rewards points.  It’s a bit tricky, but once you figure it out, it’s gold!  This is how I flew home to Shreveport a few weeks ago AND home from Birmingham … for free!

Wednesday

On Wednesday I shared 10 things I’m grateful for plus this gorgeous maxi dress (that’s under $90!) and these Loeffler Randal sandals that are marked down by over $200!  It was a fun post to write.  It made me want to jot down things I’m grateful for more often.

I hit up yet another SoulCycle class on Wednesday evening.  🙂

Thursday

Thursday was a productive work-from-home day!  I ended the day by heading to SoulCycle and inadvertently taking a SoulCycle SoulActivate class.  SoulActivate is a new class offered by SoulCycle, which if you’ve taken it you know that it’s HARD.  It incorporates more weight and interval training than the traditional SoulCycle class.  A great workout for sure!

Weekend Plans

I’m planning on laying low this weekend.  I’m so excited to check a few wedding to-dos off of my list (still need a videographer!) and get some blog and contracts work done.

I’m trying out a new-to-me workout on Saturday, which I’m excited about and terrified to attend.  I’m taking the beginner’s class at solidcore.  I mentioned solidcore on my Instagram Stories a few weeks ago, and the consensus I received was that I’ll be hurting afterwards.  Ha!   I’ll let you know how it goes!

Favorite Things This Week

Olaplex Hair Protector // My hair stylist suggested this product at my last visit.  I tend to get breakage in my hair towards the middle of my strands (likely because of using heat tools).  I used this hair treatment for the first time this week, and oh my goodness!  My hair feels so soft, and I can tell that continued use (suggested 1x per week) is really going to help!  Check out the reviews of the product on Sephora’s site for more info!

Rodan + Fields Lash Boost // The hype is real.  I purchased my first tube of Lash Boost in January and since then I’ve lost count of the number of times someone has asked if my eyelashes are fake.  This product is pricey.  But I JUST ran out of the first tube (and immediately ordered another).  So essentially you’ll just need two tubes to get you through the year.  Compared to the cost of lash extensions, I’ll take it!

Colleen Rothschild Detox Mask // I’ve been dying to try out some of Colleen Rothschild’s skincare products.  And thanks to the swag bag at #TBSCon, I finally got my hands on her detox mask.  It’s so good.  It goes on smooth and then hardens.  After washing it off, my skin felt so soft and clean!

Have a great weekend!
