I can hardly believe Labor Day is only a couple of weeks away, but at the same time, I’m so ready for fall!  Here in D.C., as in a lot of places, it doesn’t actually start to cool down until mid-September, early-October.  But while it still might feel like summertime outside, I’m usually ready to ditch my summer wardrobe and start weaving in a few fall pieces towards the beginning of September.

Today’s look is a perfect example of how I start to incorporate more fall elements into my wardrobe as the seasons change.  I included three tips on how to transition your wardrobe from summer to fall below!

How to Transition Your Wardrobe from Summer to Fall

Incorporate darker, fall colors.  //  I love this blouse from & Other Stories (one of my new favorite places to shop!).  It’s the perfect transition top!  It goes perfectly with white jeans for now, but I can’t wait to style it with darker denim and these brown booties in a few weeks!

Add in a touch of brown leather. // Adding in a heavier material like brown leather accessories is a great way to start transitioning your wardrobe into fall.  You don’t have to jump straight into heavy sweaters and flannel.  This Madewell belt and this pair of Madewell sandals add the perfect amount of warm tones to this look to even out the white jeans and straw bag.

Switch out white jeans for darker denim. // As I mentioned above, tops that I wore through the summer with denim shorts and white jeans, I’ll now pair with dark blue or black denim.  And I usually revert back to non-distressed pairs of denim too!
