Week In Review

Week In Review - Cobalt Chronicles

Well, I got back from Louisiana on Monday and I’m heading back there today!  I’ve had this trip planned for a while so even with my unexpected trip home last week, I’m heading back this weekend.  Looking forward to this morning coffee view!

On Monday I shared a neutral look for summer, and unfortunately, the summer sweater is currently sold out,  but I’ll be sure to keep you posted if I see that it has been restocked.  In the meantime, I found this super similar version!

I had big plans to finally make it to the gym after work on Tuesday, but a really fun opportunity popped up that I couldn’t pass up!  With 48 hours notice, I found out that my apartment was going to be shot for a feature so I spent Tuesday night perusing in home stores in Georgetown picking up a few things to finish out a couple of nooks in my apartment … and then I spent all night Wednesday cleaning my apartment! 😉

Before the cleaning party commenced, I shared 10 wishlist items for summer!  I’ve been wearing this gingham top non-stop, and I packed this pretty maxi dress for a baby shower that I’m helping to host this weekend!

Thursday morning was the shoot!  Even though my alarm went off at a cool 4:30am, it was so much fun.  I can’t wait to share with you all once the piece is complete!

Like I mentioned above, I’m heading to Shreveport today so be sure to follow along on Instagram as I’m sure I’ll be snapping away all weekend!

Before I sign off, I wanted to share a fun event that I’m attending next weekend – if you’re in the DC area, you should TOTALLY come!  My friend, Serena, an amazingly talented illustrator, is hosting a DIY watercoloring class at West Elm on 14th Street next Sunday, June 25th.  She’ll be teaching everyone how to create their own heraldry like the one below that she created for me!

Here’s a little blurb about the event:

Learn to create your own watercolor monogram & personal heraldry.  This beginners workshop will teach the basics of modern monograms using hand lettering techniques, how to paint simple watercolor florals, and combine it into your own personal heraldry.  No prior art experience needed.

Come ready to have fun and leave with your own personal coat of arms!

  • Supplies included
  • Mimosas and delicious treats
  • Discounts on all Serena Martin Design stationery and prints
  • 15% off at West Elm all day
  • Parting gift from Stacy Kleber Designs
