Week In Review

Week In Review Cobalt Chronicles

After being on a plane last Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, I’m so excited for this Friday to be here and ready for a weekend at home!  Even though I’ll technically be home, I do have something fun up my sleeve for tonight and tomorrow.  But first let’s take a look back at the week!

Monday

On Monday I shared recent fall finds under $100.  I’m all in on fall shopping these days.  Next up on my list is a pair of booties.  I literally wore holes in my flat Dolce Vita booties by the end of last winter, so I’m in desperate need (here’s this year’s version).  Here are a few I’m eyeing …

Tuesday

Michael and I spent Labor Day Weekend in Boston.  On Tuesday I shared a recap of our trip!  We had a blast and ate soooo much good food!  Check out the post for all the restaurant recommendations!

Speaking of good food, I met Laura on Tuesday night for wine and pizza at Ghibellina.  The weather was perfect and we lucked out and scored a couple of seats right by the open windows.  We’re working on the next social event for the DC/VA chapter of The Blog Societies so if you’re a member, stay tuned!

Wednesday

On Wednesday I shared something a little different … I dished on exactly what affiliate marketing is and how bloggers use it to make an income.  I hope this post provided some insight to non-bloggers and value to my fellow bloggers!

Wednesday night kicked off a new year  for Junior League (we work in school years)!  If you’ve been around here a while, you probably know that I’m involved with the Junior League of Washington, and through the JLW I volunteer with Bright Beginnings, a school for homeless children here in the DC area.  I LOVE volunteering with BB!  Don’t worry, I’ll be sharing plenty more about the organization throughout the year! 🙂

Thursday

Last night I had the opportunity to attend a book launch for my friend Emilia‘s book Mag World.  I finally snagged a copy and can’t wait to dive in!  It was a such a fun event, and I had a chance to catch up with a lot of people that I don’t see on a regular basis so that’s always nice!

Weekend Plans

Like I mentioned above, I’m super excited to be home this weekend!  Michael and I are doing a little staycation at the Avenue Suites Georgetown tonight.  I’m so looking forward to checking out the property and having a low key night in.  Be sure to follow along on Instagram Stories as I’ll be sharing sneak peeks of the property!

Saturday will be filled with college football!  Also super excited about this.

Other Happenings

I mentioned this last week, but as a reminder, if you’re in D.C., check out this upcoming event that you don’t want to miss!  The Atlantic is hosting its annual Washington Ideas event September 26 – 28.  Among the amazing group of speakers slated for the event are Melanie Whelan, CEO of SoulCycle, celebrity chef and restaurant mogul José Andrés, Martha Raddatz, chief global affairs correspondent at ABC News (one of my favorite news correspondents!), Christina Tosi, Founder and CEO of Milkbar.  I’ll be attending, and you should be too!  You’ll receive $25 off of the ticket price by using the code COBALT at checkout.  You can purchase tickets here.
