Week In Review

Week In Review | Cobalt Chronicles | Washington DC | Style Blog

This was one of those weeks where I can’t believe it’s already Friday, definitely not complaining though!  This weekend is the only weekend I’ll be in DC this month so I’m looking forward to relaxing and getting into the Christmas spirit, it’s officially December!  With all of the sale craziness that was happening last weekend it’s nice to be back in a routine and to be able to share my week with you!  So let’s hop right in …

Monday

Speaking of sales, Monday was Cyber Monday.  Did you score any deals?!  I checked a few people off of my Christmas list and ended up getting this fuzzy sweater, which is still 40% off, and this chenille beanie.  Both are SO cute on!

Tuesday

I shared my second Gift Guide on Tuesday – Gifts for Him!  Michael helped me put together this guide, so it’s legit.  If you’re looking for a gift for your significant other, brother, brother-in-law, or dad, be sure to check out the post!  Also, if you missed the first Gift Guide, Gifts Under $25, check that one out too!

Wednesday

On Wednesday I shared my favorite black blazer, styled two different ways.  I wore the blazer yesterday to work and then threw on jeans for an after-hours event.  It’s super versatile, a great piece to have in your closet!

Wednesday night I helped host a fundraising happy hour for one of my favorite DC organizations.  If you’ve been following along with me for a while now, you might know that I volunteer with Bright Beginnings through the Junior League of Washington.  This is my third year in a row supporting Bright Beginnings and their mission.  If you’d like more information about the wonderful organization, click here.  And if you’re feeling generous this holiday season, you can donate to help this wonderful organization here.

After the happy hour, Michael and I joined friends to see the Lumineers play at The Anthem, a new venue here in DC.  I’ve seen the Lumineers once before in Birmingham – they are incredible live!  Definitely worth staying out late on a school night. 😉

Thursday

Thursday evening I attended an event hosted by Ringlet, a digital marketing agency here in DC that’s owned by one of my dear friends, Elise, at Argent, a local clothing brand that specializes in the most amazing women’s work wear pieces.  The event featured a panel of women entrepreneurs including Shizu Okusa, co-founder of JRINK, Kerra Michele, Founder of BUREAU & Kerra Michele Interiors, Cori Sue Morris of Bitches Who Brunch, Eleanor Turner, Co-Founder & CCO of Argent, Desiree Venn Frederic, Co-Founder & CCO of Combing Cotton, and Theresa Watts, Owner of Lettie Gooch.  It was great to hear from so many inspiring women business owners!

Weekend Plans

Like I mentioned above, I’m looking forward to a weekend at home.  Saturday will be filled with Christmas-y things – I’ll be playing Santa dropping off my Wish List items for my sweet Bright Beginnings angel (shopping for kids is the best!), Michael and I are planning on picking up a Christmas tree and decorating it at some point, and Monica is hosting a fun holiday shindig Saturday night that I’m looking forward to!

Other Happenings

Monday starts three weeks of GIVEAWAYS here on the blog (and Instagram!).  Leading up to Christmas, I’m partnering with three of my favorite brands and will be hosting one giveaway each week.  I’m so excited to share them with you!  The first one goes live on Monday so be sure to check back to enter to win!
