Week In Review – Destin, Florida Edition!

Week In Review - Destin, Florida Edition | Cobalt Chronicles | Washington, DC | Lifestyle Blogger

Happy Friday, from the beach!  I’m in Sandestin, Florida (in the panhandle of Florida) this weekend with my family for our annual beach trip.  The 30A/Destin area of Florida is my absolute favorite.  Out of all the places to vacation, it tops my list.  I like to think that the beaches here are a southerner’s secret.  The white sand and crystal blue water that matches the Caribbean aren’t what most people think of when they think of the Gulf Coast.

I was mostly working for the (long) weekend this week, let’s jump into this week’s Week In Review!

Monday

On Monday I shared my experience with Botox!  If you haven’t read the post yet, check it out here!  Spoiler alert, Botox is amazing.

I spent most of my day working at home.  Since I cut out early this week to head to the beach, I had to cram five days of work into three this week.  I ended the day with a SoulCycle ride. #nevermissamonday

Tuesday

In Tuesday’s #CobaltChroniclesTravels post, I shared my stay at the Graduate Hotel in Oxford, Mississippi!  Not only did Sarah and I have such a fun weekend in our college town of Oxford, it was such a pleasure to meet and work with a new-to-me Oxford photographer for the Graduate photos!  If you’re in the Oxford area (hello football season!), I can’t recommend Lindsey enough!

On Tuesday I had the opportunity to try out a new SoulCycle class, Soul Activate!  If you’re familiar with SoulCycle classes, you know that they’re pretty cardio based.  While you’re still spinning for the majority of time during Soul Activate, it’s more of an interval training class.  I really enjoyed it!  And it’s 60 minutes long instead of the usual 45 minute Soul class (more bang for your buck!).

I also picked up a few beach necessities while out and about … I grabbed a refill of my favorite self tanner, a travel sized Living Proof dry shampoo (my fave!), and a new book, Elenor Oliphant is Completely Fine.  I’ll keep you posted on if it’s worth a read!

Wednesday

On Wednesday I shared a brand that’s making a major comeback!  And you better believe I packed the dress featured in the post for the beach this weekend!

And I squeezed in one last SoulCycle class on Wednesday before being beach bound.

Thursday

Michael and I had an early wake-up call Thursday morning to catch our flight to the beach!  My mom, dad, sister, and brother-in-law picked us up from the airport, we stopped for lunch at the Beach House, made a big grocery trip for the weekend, spent the afternoon at the beach, and went to Shunk Gulley for dinner (highly recommend!).

Weekend Plans

The beach.  I’m planning on squeezing in as much beach time as possible this weekend.  We’re only here until Sunday so I want to make the most of it!

Favorite Things This Week

Straw Beach Hat // Out of all of my adult years that I’ve been going to the beach, I’ve never owned a straw beach hat!  Like, what?!  I finally snagged one this week.  It’s so cute, the perfect size (just enough floppiness to it!), and it’s under $15!

Blush Knit Cardigan // I also picked up this cardigan this week.  I love a good summer sweater.  I wore it while traveling on Thursday, and I’m currently wearing it typing this post and drinking my coffee!  It’s perfectly light weight, comes in two colors, and is $25!

Instax Mini 70 // You may have seen me talking about this polaroid-esque camera on Instagram Stories.  I finally tried it out this week, and it’s so fun!  The photos are easy to take and so far, have turned out great!

Have a great weekend!
