This week was a good one! It was warm and sunny in Houston for the majority of the week. A nice reminder of why we moved here. No offense DC’ers, but I’m so happy to not be still struggling through 40 degree temps in March. The weather has such an affect on my mood and productivity. I have so much respect for the folks that live anywhere north of DC, I couldn’t do it.

Now that we’ve gotten the weather chat out of the way 😉 let’s jump into today’s post!

Monday

I spent half of my weekend in Shreveport last weekend for my mom’s birthday. I drove back to Houston early Saturday morning to attend a Cabi Clothing show – have you heard of Cabi?! My mom actually sells the clothing line. The pieces are top notch quality-wise. I always end up with a few pieces each season. I grabbed these shoes from the latest line, and I’m obsessed! They run true to size. And this sweater is on its way to me (order down a size or even two – it’s very oversized)!

All that to say that the rest of my weekend in Houston was pretty low key, and I went to bed super early on Sunday night, which made for a productive Monday!

I shared a fun post on Monday recapping my experience riding in a hot air balloon! It really was a wild experience! I love how the photos turned out.

By now you know I try to never miss a Monday SoulCycle class – that’s how I ended my day!

Tuesday

Tuesday was a work from home day as I had a handful of Contracts for Creatives contracts I had to wrap up before the end of the month. I squeezed in a Hot Sonic 60 (hot yoga) class at YogaWorks to end the day.

I mentioned last week that I’ve been on a roll with trying out new recipes lately, and this week was no different. I tried out this chicken tikka masala Instant Pot recipe and it turned out so well! Michael loved it too!

Wednesday

On Wednesday I shared my latest Amazon Favorites roundup. I’m making this a monthly thing, and it’s one of my favorite posts to put together! I love finding good buys on Amazon and sharing them with you!

I had a lunch date on Wednesday with Shireen at Common Bond, a place I’ll definitely be frequenting! It was so nice to connect with a fellow blogger here in Houston!

I ended the day with a Soul Activate (SoulCycle’s version of a HIIT workout). Always a nice change of pace from a regular Soul ride.

Thursday

Thursday was a straight work-from-home, head-down, at-my-desk kind of day. I have lunch plans today (Friday) so I have a feeling my Friday will be cut short. I wanted to squeeze in as much blog work and contracts work as possible on Thursday so I could start the weekend a little early on Friday. 🙂

Weekend Plans

Since I was away for half of the weekend last weekend, I’m excited to be in town for a low key couple of days. Michael and I are planning on hitting up a patio and grabbing crawfish for dinner to watch LSU hopefully advance to the Elite Eight tonight! Are you into March Madness?! I love watching all the games and can’t wait for One Shining Moment to play after the championship game!

Other than a double date for dinner on Saturday night, I have no plans other than working on decorating our new place a bit more. Our living room rug and guest bedroom mattress arrived this week. Slowly but surely coming together!

Favorite Things This Week

Target Sweatshirt // I picked up this sweatshirt while in Shreveport last weekend. I wore it on Saturday AND Sunday with leggings and paired it with jeans and loafers for a lunch date this week. It is THE SOFTEST! And the material is a bit elevated so that it easily looks cute with both leggings and jeans! It has slits up the sides and fits a bit oversized. It’s available in a few colors and a steal at $25!

Everlane Loafers // These loafers are everything I never knew I needed. I’ve been eyeing these white leather Sam Edelman loafers for months, but for some reason I could never pull the trigger. And then this Everlane pair came along. They are made of the softest Italian leather and are super comfortable. I love the white for spring!

Have a great weekend!
