Week In Review

After spending last weekend in New Orleans, I’m excited for a somewhat relaxing weekend here in D.C.  Let’s jump right into the week in review and chat about weekend plans!

Monday

On Monday I shared a look from New Orleans.  I paired the top with black pants and my favorite oversized blazer (currently 40% off!) this week for work.  It’s such a cute top for spring, perfect for the transitioning weather!

I was definitely feeling the effects of a wedding weekend in New Orleans on Monday.  I hit up SoulCycle after work to sweat it all out, and surprise, I felt a million times better afterwards!

Tuesday

In this week’s #CobaltTravel’s post, I followed up on last week’s post where I shared the six credit cards I have in my wallet and how they help me earn points and miles for travel.  In this week’s post, I shared the best FIRST credit card you need if you’re just getting into the credit card game and trying to start earning points and miles.

I mentioned in a previous post, but I recently started working with a company that I’ve grown to love and trust for credit card reviews, CardRatings.com.  If you decide to sign up for a credit card to start earning points and miles, I would greatly appreciate your support of signing up through one of the credit card links here on the blog!  And just know that I would never recommend a card that I wouldn’t use myself!

Tuesday evening I hit up one last SoulCycle class this week before taking a few days off to rest my legs in preparation for the half-marathon I’m running on Saturday!

Wednesday

On Wednesday I shared my current nighttime skincare routine as it seemed fitting since I had a dermatologist appointment later that day!  If you’re looking for a new dermatologist in D.C., I couldn’t recommend Dr. Naga at SkinDC more.  She’s wonderful and answered all of my questions that I came in with that day.  Her office is very high tech (does that make me sound old?), which makes checking in a breeze.  Her front office staff is also wonderful.

Michael’s birthday was on Wednesday so we celebrated with a casual night out for ramen.  We’re waiting to celebrate this weekend!

Thursday

Michael and I picked up our race packets for the half-marathon on Thursday!  This will be my fourth half (I’ve run one full), and even though I’ve done a few in the past, I’m still nervous for this one!  Just the thought of having two-ish hours of straight running in front of you is a bit daunting.  But I know it will be totally worth it!  You can read more about how we trained plus my tips for training here!

Weekend Plans

Tonight’s plans are low key and likely involve watching an episode or two of Stranger Things – I’m hooked!  I’ll be up bright and early Saturday morning to head out to the race.  Michael and I have been saving a gift card we have to Ted’s Bulletin (if you’re in D.C., you know) to eat ALL the food after the race.  So that’s what I’ll be thinking about for all 13.1 miles.

Saturday night we’re celebrating Michael’s birthday at a speakeasy followed by dinner at a sushi spot that we’ve been dying to try!

The one thing I’m looking forward to most on Sunday is getting a pedicure!  After months of training for the race, my feet are in all kinds of bad shape.  Can’t wait to get a fresh spring paint job!

Have a great weekend, and if you happen to be running in the Rock n Roll race this weekend too, good luck!
