After a long week away in San Francisco last week, this week flew by! It was nice to be at home in Houston for most of the week (more on that below). I was able to catch up on work, to-dos around the house, and even squeeze in a few happy hour dates!

Monday

On Monday I shared 5 Tips on How to Stay Motivated to Workout. Physical activity is a big part of my daily routine. Hopefully the tips in the post helped to motivate you if you’re looking for a little extra push to get back into a regular workout routine!

Speaking of workouts, this week I changed mine up a bit. I’ve been hitting the gym with Michael in the mornings to get in a weight circuit. While I love spin, running, and yoga, recently, I’ve been eager to incorporate more weights into my routine. I squeezed in a session at the gym on Monday morning and still made it to SoulCycle that evening (because #nevermissamonday).

Tuesday

On the heels of this horrifying CNN article published earlier this month regarding the potentially harmful chemicals in some leading sunscreen brands, I wanted to share a few clean, safe sunscreens that I love and use. In Tuesday’s post I shared 4 Non-Toxic Sunscreens I Love. I actually updated the blog post with a new product alert! I love Beautycounter’s Countersun line (I use the spray version often)! Beautycoutner recently released two tinted versions of the spray sunscreen! Plus an after-sun cooling gel. All are clean, safe products (no crazy chemicals).

On the workout front, I hit the gym with Michael in the morning and squeezed in a lunchtime walk. While I spent the majority of my day at my desk, I ended the day at Bungalow Heights for a happy hour rosé with a new friend!

Wednesday

This week officially marked one year since I quit my corporate 9-5 job to pursue my passions – running Cobalt Chronicles and Contracts for Creatives! On Wednesday I shared 3 Lessons Learned After One Year of Self Employment. I’ve learned a lot this year, and t’s not always roses, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything!

After ordering and returning several pairs of running shoes, I finally found a pair that I love this week! The pair made my Favorite Things This Week list below! I took them out for an inaugural run on Wednesday. A short run, just 2 miles, but it was nice to get one in!

I ended the day at Postino with a rosé on their patio. It’s easily becoming one of my favorite spots to grab a glass of wine and meat and cheese board,

Thursday

Thursday was a packed day since I treated it like my Friday. Anytime I’m heading out of town on a Friday, my Thursday feels slammed. Slammed but productive! 🙂 I worked out in the morning with Michael and then worked from home most of the day. I did a rare try-on session on Instagram Stories featuring a handful of recent items I’ve gotten in for spring summer. A few of them are linked in the photo above if you missed it!

Weekend Plans

Michael and I are making the drive to Baton Rouge today to spend the weekend with Michael’s family. It’s a short 4-hour drive, SO nice compared to the flights we used to have to take from DC! My sister-in-law graduated from grad school this week (congrats MK!) and Michael’s cousin is graduating from high school on Saturday. So we’ll be celebrating both of them this weekend!

Favorite Things This Week

I’m all about shoes in this week’s favorite things!

Rothy’s Slip On Sneakers //

I mentioned last week that I attended the opening party for the Rent the Runway flagship store in San Francisco. In our gift bags, Rothy’s generously dropped in a gift card to try out a pair of their shoes, which are made with recycled water bottles. I’ve seen some of my favorite bloggers raving about Rothy’s lately, so I decided to put the gift card to use. I snagged the black slip on sneakers (they have several other styles and lots of colors!). I’m obsessed! They totally live up to the hype. They’re perhaps the most comfortable shoe I have in my closet! They run TTS and are machine washable!

Nike Running Shoes //

Like I mentioned above, I finally found a new pair of running shoes that I love! I’ve been needing a new pair for a while. This pair is available in tons of different color combinations. I always size up in running shoes. I’m usually a straight size 7 in all shoes, but in running shoes, I generally wear a 8.5 or 9. I went with a 8.5 in this pair and they fit perfectly!

Everlane Crossover Sandals //

I happened to add three pairs of shoes to my closet this week … oops! Everlane is one of my favorite places to shop. They kindly sent over a pair of their new crossover sandals this week for me to try out. They’re made of the SOFTEST leather. I picked the blush pair, but they’re available in several other colors too! They run TTS.

Have a great weekend!
