TGIF! I hope you had a good week or at least more good days than not so good ones in this, what seems to be, new normal. Texas started opening back up last Friday, but I haven’t noticed any difference from before when everything was shut down. A lot of restaurants remain carry-out only and not much else has opened back up yet. Today, hair salons and a few other businesses are allowed to start opening, with restrictions in place of course.

The highlight of my week was venturing out to the grocery store – Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods! I haven’t physically been to the grocery store since the middle of March! Grocery delivery has been pretty reliable through Amazon Fresh and Amazon Whole Foods here in Houston, so we’ve been using those services. But this week we were out of almost everything. I have to shout out Trader Joe’s – they have an awesome system in place to ensure everyone is staying as safe as possible. Sanitized carts as you walk in, limiting the number of people allowed inside, markings on the floor to indicate 6-feet distancing, and plexiglass up for the cashiers. Whole Foods also was very easy. If you’re in Houston, I went to the one on Waugh and hardly anyone was there. It was a breeze to get in and out. I know this is likely not the case in some cities, but that was my experience here in Houston this week.

Let’s jump into this week’s Week In Review!

This week’s workouts …

Since we’ve moved to strictly at-home workouts, I’ve been sharing my workouts daily on Instagram Stories. I saved them all to a highlight on my Instagram page if you need some inspiration! Most are short 30 minute workouts, easy to squeeze in!

This week, Michael and I did Orangetheory workouts Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. They’re free and viewable on YouTube! We’ve been doing Orangetheory almost every weekday. We finish each workout with a quick run around the block!

Today (Friday), Michael and I are streaming a yoga class from the studio we attend here in Houston, Yoga Works. You can check out the schedule here: https://www.yogaworks.com/classes/live/

I really look forward to our 1 hour walks each Saturday and Sunday! Something that I plan on sticking to even when all of this is over.

Weekend Plans

Michael and I are planning on picking up crawfish tonight for dinner! We love Boil House for crawfish here in Houston.

I ordered Clue on Amazon this week! LOL I’m hoping it arrives today so that we have it to play over the weekend. Quarantine things y’all.

My Favorite Things this Week

SoSis Collab Pieces! // I collaborated with SoSis to share a few of their new arrivals this week! Chelsey and Annie Claire, the two owners of SoSis, are the sweetest! I’ve been so impressed with all of the ways they’ve pivoted to keep their business running while their brick and mortar shop is temporarily closed due to Covid. Check out the collection here! Everything is super reasonably priced and so cute! An easy and fun way to support a women owned small business!

Have a nice weekend!

I can’t believe things are starting to open up! I mean I’m happy about it (obviously), but it feels weird to me (clearly been in quarantine too long;)) Our go to Starbucks reopened here in the city because they wanted “people to feel normal again”, and that was the highlight of my week!

Also I LOVE Aerosoles SO much. I’ve been wearing them for years (I have like 2 pairs of the same booties that I can’t seem to part ways with…even though they’re on their last leg lol). Can’t wait to see your collab!

I know, it feels weird to me too. Like cases here in Texas are rising, but hey, let’s have people dine in a restaurant together. I don’t know .. I mean, I’m happy for the businesses but just nervous.

And I can’t believe I’ve been sleeping on Aerosoles! I’m definitely going to need some boots come fall!
