Week In Review – NYC Christmas Edition

Week In Review | New York City Christmas Edition | Cobalt Chronicles | Washington, DC | Style Blogger

Happy Friday!  Can you believe there’s only one more Friday before Christmas?!  I’m not sure how that’s possible, but it’s happening!  If you’re still looking for the perfect gift, check out my gift guides and gift ideas: Gifts for Her, Gifts for Your Boyfriend/Husband, Gifts Under $25, My Favorite Luggage Gifts, and a Unique Family Gift Idea!

Michael and I are spending our last weekend before heading home for the holidays in NYC!  Before I jump into what we’re up to this weekend, let’s take a look back at the week.

Monday

On Monday I shared another post on my FAVORITE luggage brand!  I added a bigger bag to my collection, and I’m giving you the scoop on it along with my carry-on bags in the post.  The Bigger Carry-On bag made the trip with me to NYC!  🙂

I worked from home most of the day on Monday as I’m in the process of wrapping up holiday content for you guys here on the blog as well as tying up loose ends for a few of my Contracts for Creatives clients before the end of the year.  I ended my day the best way I know how, with SoulCycle!

Tuesday

On Tuesday I shared another gift guide – Gifts Under $25!  There are so many GOOD gifts under $25, including this coffee mug warmer that I’m getting for myself!

After a 7AM SoulCycle class Tuesday morning, I ventured to SkinDC, my dermatologist’s office, to see Megan for my first hydra-facial.  I’m going to be sharing a full blog post in January on my hydra-facial and a few other treatments I’m having done at SkinDC prior to my wedding.  But as a little teaser, the hydra-facial was amazing.  My skin seriously looks 100% better today than it did before I went in on Tuesday.  My skin is brighter and incredibly soft!  I was really, really impressed with the results!  More to come!

Wednesday

On Wednesday I shared a recap of a recent girls’ day spent at Gaylord National Resort.  The resort is decked out in Christmas decor – it’s definitely worth checking out if you’re in the DC area, especially if you have kids!

I hit up an early morning SoulCycle class because I had a packed evening and knew I wouldn’t make an afternoon workout.  First up on the agenda that night was the Rent the Runway sample sale preview!  If you’re in DC, Rent the Runway in Georgetown is having a sample sale that’s running now through December 23rd.  It’s open daily from 11AM-8PM.

Next, I stopped by the Shah & Shah holiday party.  Shah & Shah holds a special place in my heart as it’s where Michael purchased my engagement ring!  And I love the folks there!  If you’re looking for a jeweler in DC, they’re your people!

I capped the night off at the launch party for Capital Cooperative.  Capital Cooperative is an amazing new-ish organization in DC focused on recruiting career-driven women in the Washington, DC Metro region for membership with the purpose of leveraging women in the Cooperative to achieve both personal and professional goals.  You can learn more about the organization here!

Thursday

I spent Thursday morning at Follain, a skincare and makeup shop that focuses on non-toxic, safe, and effective products.  I spent almost two hours trying out different products and learning more about the brands they carry.

I took home a few of their liquid hand soaps, which are a steal at $16 (and would make a great Christmas gift!).  The soap comes in a beautiful glass bottle with a dispenser.  Once the soap runs out, you can either pop in a Follain store for a refill or order a refill online – the refills are only $4!

I’ve been making a real effort to slowly but surely switch over my skincare and beauty products to more clean versions.  A few of the products that I’ve switched out so far and am loving … Kopari Coconut Oil Deodorant, Beautycounter Peppermint Lip Conditioner, Maya Chia Highlighter, Beautycounter moisturizer, Beautycounter Cream Stick Blush (Hibiscus), and Beautycounter Sheer Lipstick (Rose).

Weekend Plans

Like I mentioned, Michael and I are in NYC for the weekend!  We’re staying with friends so it should be a fun weekend of lots of good food, good cocktails, and good times!  With Christmas cheer sprinkled in too!  Christmas time is my absolute favorite time to visit the city!

Favorite Things This Week

A few of my favorite things this week …

Nespresso Machine // December is typically my craziest month.  There are so many client deadlines, holiday events, and travel – my Nespresso machine has been keeping me afloat this week!  P.S. This little machine is one of my favorite past-Christmas gifts!  It would make a great gift for the coffee lover on your list!

SoulCycle // Another thing keeping me sane this week was SoulCycle.  I made it a point to not skip any classes this week.  I took class Monday-Thursday, and I’m so glad I did!

Madewell // All of my jeans are one of three brands, Madewell, Levi’s, and Everlane.  One of my go-to pairs of Madewell jeans bit the dust this week when the zipper broke.  I stopped by Madewell and they took the jeans and are repairing the zipper free of charge!  I was thrilled!

That’s a wrap!  Have a great weekend!
