Clean Beauty Skincare – My Favorite Products

Happy Monday!  If you follow along with my Instagram Stories, you may have noticed that I was on a clean beauty kick last week!  I visited the Follain store in Bethesda and the Beautycounter pop-up in NYC.  Clean beauty products are something I’ve become more and more interested in over the last year or so.  Today I thought I’d share a few of my favorite clean, non-toxic, but effective skincare products with you!

Follain

Follain carries it’s own in-house brand of safe, non-toxic skincare and makeup products along with other brands as well.  A couple of my favorite items from their in-house brand are the liquid hand soap and the essential oils.  I picked up a couple of bottles of the liquid hand soap last week.  I love that the bottle is glass and it’s refillable!  The soap itself smells amazing, is a disinfectant, and is made to moisturize your hands and not dry them out.  Another thing I love about Follain’s hand soap is that the bottles are refillable.  You can bring your empty bottle in-store for a refill or order a refill online.  The refills are only $4!

Follain’s essential oils are new products in the Follain family.  I have the Cooling Essential Oil Blend.  The blend includes 100% pure, organic essential oils, including peppermint and eucalyptus to help cool and energize and lavender and cajeput to ease tension and increase focus.  The oil blend comes in a small roller-ball tube that’s great for application to your writs or behind the ears.  The smell is amazing!

Beautycounter

I love Beautycounter because it’s a shop that’s easy to navigate (they don’t have hundreds of products to choose from), and I know that all of their products are non-toxic and effective!  I have so many favorite Beautycoutner products, but today I’m just sticking to a few that I absolutely LOVE!

Cleansing Balm // One of my favorite Beautycounter products is the Cleansing Balm.  It’s a soft-solid that literally melts your makeup away.  I use two dabs each night to remove all of my eye makeup and any other makeup left over after washing my face.  It’s super smooth and not harsh on my skin.  I love, love, love this product!

Countermatch Adaptive Moisture Lotion // The Countermatch Adaptive Moisture Lotion is my favorite everyday moisturizer.  I put it on every morning after applying the Brightening Facial Oil (listed below) and Supergoop suncreen

Countermatch Eye Rescue Cream // I use the Coutermatch Eye Rescue Cream the same way I use the Moisture Lotion except that I target my under eye and crows feet areas with this cream.  It’s silky smooth and so hydrating!

Plumping Facial Oil // I’m a big fan of oils and serums and Beautycounter has a great lineup of them!  I alternate using the Plumping Facial Oil and the Balancing Facial Oil at night before applying my moisturizer.

Brightening Facial Oil //  I mentioned this oil above.  The Brightening Facial Oil is packed with vitamin C, which has so many benefits for your skin!  I apply this oil every morning after cleansing my face.

Peppermint Lip Conditioner // I keep my Peppermint Lip Conditioner on hand at all times!  I apply it in the morning, throughout the day, and at night time.  I’m addicted!  It’s great year round, but especially great during the colder months!  It keeps my lips super hydrated.

P.S. Today is the last day to order items at regular shipping costs if you’re wanting the items by Christmas!  Shop Beautycounter gift sets here!

Kopari

I wrote an entire blog post on my journey with switching to a non-toxic, natural deodorant.  You can read all about it here!  I’m still so pleased with my Kopari deodorant!  It works really well and hasn’t caused any irritation to my underarm area.  I’m a big fan and highly recommend trying it out!

I’ll be chatting a lot more about clean beauty products and making the switch to safer skincare and makeup in the new year.  I’m really excited to bring more wellness posts to Cobalt Chronicles in 2019!

For me, the best part of the cleansing balm is after spreading all over, taking a hot wash rag and covering my face 🙂 Is like a mini facial…when I wipe off, my skin is tingling and it feels amazing. I’m definitely spoiled by it…normal face wash is just not a good anymore!
