Lemon 2 Go Turks & Caicos

Happy Friday!  I hope you had a great week!  Michael and I spent most of the week in the Turks & Caicos with Ocean Club Resorts.  I’m so excited to share more about the resort and details about our trip in a full blog post next week!  Long story short, we’ll definitely be heading back soon!  If Turks isn’t already on your travel list, add the cluster of islands to your list, it’s a good one.

Let’s jump into a short and sweet week in review!

Monday

Michael and I woke up bright and early to catch a 6:20AM flight from DC (DCA) to Ft. Lauderdale (FLL) to the Turks & Caicos (PLS).  It’s a pretty quick trip to the Turks – 2.5 hours from DCA to FLL and 1.5 hours from FLL to PLS.  We arrived at Ocean Club Resorts around 1:00PM and spent the rest of the day exploring the resort and the beach!

Here on the blog, I shared my October Amazon favorites!  I’ve been branching out on items I’ve been buying on Amazon lately.  I’ve found some of the best finds for my closet over the past few months, and I’m excited to be sharing these finds with you in my monthly Amazon roundup posts!

Tuesday

I celebrated my birthday on Tuesday!  I shared 10 things I’m grateful for as I turned 34 this year.

I took full advantage of being in the Turks on my birthday and spent most of the day on the beach with my book.  It was delightful!  Michael and I ventured off property to Coco Bistro for dinner, and it was amazing!  The ambiance, service, drinks, and food were all outstanding!

Wednesday

On Wednesday I shared a look back at October plus a sneak peak at what’s on tap for November (and the holidays!).  I can’t believe it’s already November.  Especially being in warm weather all week long, it has thrown me for a loop on the seasons!

Thursday

I typically don’t publish a new blog post here on Thursdays and that’s because I share a weekly blog post over on my Contracts for Creatives website on Thursdays.  The topic is usually educational and related to contracts, business basics, or a legal topic that applies to small businesses.  But this week I shared a podcast that I had the opportunity to be on this week – I joined co-hosts Kara and Tara on A-Cup Podcast for a fun interview!  Check out the blog post and podcast here!

Michael and I left the Turks on Thursday and flew to Fort Lauderdale.  Because of the timing of the flight, we stayed in Florida for the night.  We ended up going to Funky Buddha Brewery, which was really fun!  We’ve both had their beers while vacationing on the Florida panhandle but didn’t realize the brewery was located in Fort Lauderdale until we were searching for a dinner spot.  The beers were great and the food was delicious too!

Weekend Plans

We’re flying to New Orleans Friday morning and then heading to Baton Rouge for the weekend.  If you’re a college football fan, you know there’s a slightly big game happening this weekend in Death Valley.  I’m excited to spend the weekend with family and friends and excited to hopefully see the Tigers keep it close with the Tide!

Favorite Things This Week

Travel Sleep Machine //

I can’t travel anywhere without my travel sleep machine!  It’s small enough that it fits in the palm of your hand so it doesn’t take up much room while packing.  It’s MUCH better than any sleep machine app I’ve ever used on my phone.  The sound is very similar to the larger Dohm white noise machine that I use at home.

Skincare Travel Must Haves //

I shared an entire post on my skincare travel must haves a couple of weeks ago, and they all made it on this week’s trip!  I can’t go anywhere without my favorite products.  I like traveling with the products that I use everyday so that I stick to a routine while traveling.  It’s easy to fall off the wagon in other areas while on the road (eating healthy and exercising) so I like to keep as much of my normal routine included in my travel days as possible.

Sun Bum Sunscreen //

I stocked up on these 3 oz tubes of Sun Bum sunscreen before my bachelorette weekend, and they have come in so handy over the past few weeks!  The size meets the TSA carry-on standard, and the sunscreen is paraben free and not tested on animals – score!  It also smells delightful AND it works!

Have a great weekend!
