Confession, I don’t really watch TV all that often. Michael and I usually watch one episode each weeknight of whatever show we happen to be watching at the time. And on the weekends, we might watch two episodes in one night if we’re feeling wild. So I use the term “binge” lightly in this post. But with all of the extra time at home (and Michael not traveling for work), we’ve been on a roll of knocking out shows! Today I’m sharing the 10 best shows to binge watch.

10 Best Shows to Binge

The Crown (Netflix) // Before watching The Crown, I never had much interest in the British royal family. The Crown changed that pretty quickly! The Crown tells the story of Queen Elizabeth, starting in her youth in the 1940s all the way up to current times. It’s incredible seeing all of the different stages in history that she has been on the throne for throughout her rein! Highly recommend!

Ozark (Netflix) // If you liked Breaking Bad, you’ll love Ozark. Ozark follows Marty and Wendy and their two kids. Marty gets the family tied up in a money laundering scheme working for the Mexican cartel. The family moves to the Ozarks (a summer resort area in Missouri) to attempt to start up businesses to continue laundering money for the cartel.

This Is Us (NBC) // I’m a full season behind on This Is Us, but it’s one of my favorite shows currently on television. If you liked Parenthood or Brothers and Sisters, you’re sure to like This Is Us! It’s a tear jerker though, so beware!

The Americans (Amazon Prime) // The Americans is an awesome drama series that follows Philip and Elizabeth Jennings, two KGB spies in an arranged marriage who are posing as Americans in D.C., shortly after Ronald Reagan is elected president. The couple has two children, Paige and Henry, who are unaware of their parents’ true identities. It’s action packed and gives an interesting (although fictional) look at the Cold War times.

Man in the High Castle (Amazon Prime) // Man in the High Castle is a little dark. It’s set in a world where World War II turned out differently. In this dystopian universe, the United States is divided into three parts, an area controlled by the Japanese, a Nazi-controlled section, and a buffer zone between the two. It definitely sucked me in! We’ve only watched 2 of the 4 seasons so far, but it’s pretty good!

Parenthood (NBC) // One of my all-time favorite shows! Contrary to what I said above, I quite literally binge watched all 6 seasons of this show when I first moved to D.C. (Michael hadn’t moved yet). The show follows four grown siblings and their families as they navigate through challenges of modern family life. It’s so good!

Modern Love (Amazon Prime) // Modern Love is inspired by a column written in the New York Times under the same name. It’s set in NYC and each episodes spotlights a different type of love story, not all romantic. Modern Love is an easy watch with a star studded cast. Definitely a feel good show!

Master of None (Netflix) // Master of None is a fun, light hearted comedy written by comedian Aziz Ansari and Alan Yang. It’s based loosely on Aziz’s upbringing. Aziz plays the role of Dev, a New York-based actor who struggles to identify what he really wants in his life, both personally and professionally. If you’re looking for something light and easy to watch, definitely check this one out!

Netflix Comedy Specials // I love popping on a comedy special on the weekends! They’re usually hilarious and a nice break from a series! Some of our favorites … Aziz Ansari, Dave Chappelle, Jim Gaffigan, Ellen Degeneres, Kevin Hart, Ali Wong, John Mulaney, Sebastian Maniscalco

Guilty Pleasure Shows // All of my Bravo shows that I watch when Michael’s not around. đŸ˜‰ Summer House, RHONY, Southern Charm, Vanderpump Rules
