Honestly, January flew by in a flash. Usually, January is a slower month. Everyone is taking it easy after the holidays, it’s cold, and it’s generally a month to reset. Not this year. I was back in DC for two weeks after the holidays before heading out on a whirlwind trip to The Bahamas and back to DC for only 24 hours before heading out to Hawaii for Michael and I’s honeymoon. We get back to DC tomorrow, on the last day of the month. Before the month officially ends, I’m taking a quick look back at January plus sharing a little sneak peek at what’s to come in February … spoiler alert, life is not slowing down anytime soon.

New Year, New Goals

In my first blog post of 2019, I shared 5 things I was doing to jumpstart the new year. For the two weeks that I was in DC after the holidays I stuck to no alcohol consumption and maintained a pretty clean diet. All of that went out the window the moment I set foot in The Bahamas.

I also maintained a pretty great SoulCycle and YogaWorks routine while I was in town. I’m excited to jump back on both bandwagons when we arrive back from Hawaii.

Another item I mentioned in that blog post was a main goal of mine for 2019 – swapping out my beauty products for cleaner and safer products as the year goes on. I shared a #12daysofdetox series on Instagram Stories at the beginning of the month where I shared a few of my favorite clean beauty products. I featured a different “detox” item each day for 12 days. The Stories are saved in my highlights section on my Instagram page if you’re interested in checking it out! Just scroll to the DETOX highlight! I also created a Clean Beauty Favorites page here on the blog where I listed all of my favorite clean beauty favorite including bath and body, skincare, and makeup!

Michael & I Got Married!

Like I mentioned, Michael and I got married in The Bahamas on January 19th! I’m still coming off the high of the amazing time we had with friends and family. Michael and I were in The Bahamas from Tuesday – Monday. Most of our friends and family were in town from Wednesday – Monday. We had the BEST time. I’m planning on sharing tons more wedding-related blog posts over the next couple of months recapping everything and sharing tips on planning a destination wedding too. So stay tuned!

Honeymoon In Hawaii

After our wedding weekend, Michael and I made a quick pitstop back in DC to switch out clothes and a few bags and then we were off to Hawaii! We had a 24 hour layover in LA on our way there. It was fun since neither of us had ever been to Los Angeles. You can read more about what we did during our short stay here!

For our honeymoon, we spent 7 nights in Kauai at the Marriott Kauai Beach Resort. I’ll have a big blog post coming soon recapping our entire stay! I’ve received tons of questions on Instagram about recommendations so stay tuned – it’s coming! If you’re heading to Kauai soon and need recommendations ASAP, check out my Kauai highlight on my Instagram page where I saved all of my Instagram Stories from the week!

Big News Coming Next Week …

As if January wasn’t packed full of enough happenings, I have some big news to share next week, so stay tuned! 🙂

I hope the first month of the new year served as a great reset! Now onto February!
