I shared my updated morning routine shortly after Michael and I moved to Houston last year. While a few things have changed since then, for the most part, my routine is still the same. I mentioned that as part of my morning routine, I like to catch up on news articles, blogs, and other articles while sipping on my second cup of coffee before jumping into my second time block of work for the day.

While a lot of the articles and blog posts that I read can vary day by day, there are always three newsletters that I never skip over. These three newsletters are short reads packed full of helpful and informative tidbits of information.

3 Daily Newsletters Worth Reading

I know none us need more clutter in our inboxes, but these daily newsletters are ones that I’ve read for a while now and really provide value in quick-to-consume formats. Worth subscribing, IMO!

The Good Trade: The Daily Good // This is the newest addition to my daily reading routine. The Daily Good is a short email that aims to inspire a movement towards social good. It’s a quick hit of a podcast you should listen to, an account (usually Instagram) you should follow, a brand you should browse (usually sustainable), and an article you should read. I should also note that it’s beautifully designed! I’ve found new sustainable brands that I love through The Daily Good!

Morning Brew // Morning Brew is focused on the day’s or the previous day’s top news events. It not only includes top news stories you’ll see on the morning news, but it also includes top news from Wall Street to Silicon Valley. I like that it’s easy to read and essentially provides cliff notes of the day’s top stories. I also appreciate the writers’ sense of humor in their writing style!

the Skimm // I’ve been reading the Skimm for YEARS, probably around 7 or 8! Similar to Morning Brew, the Skimm provides a quick recap of the top news stories of the day – things you need to know. Their tag line is – The Daily Skimm prepares you for your day in minutes. I appreciate the Skimm as it’s written in a female voice (founded by two women). While Morning Brew and the Skimm are similar, Morning Brew has more of a numbers focus, while the Skimm touches on more relatable (to me) news stories and happenings.

Bonus: The Newsette // While I do subscribe to The Newsette’s daily newsletter, I don’t read it everyday. It’s a quick read that focuses on top news stories, but it’s geared towards news in the fashion and beauty industry. I enjoy the blurbs at the end of each newsletter more than anything else – several days of the week they’ll feature a female executive from a well-known brand as she shares either her morning or nighttime routine. I always find routines interesting!
