DCAcar kindly provided complementary transportation to the Virginia wineries.
One of the biggest (hidden) perks of living in DC is its proximity to Virginia wine country! I love living in DC for so many different reasons, but sometimes it’s nice to get out of the city. Most people don’t realize that in under an hour you can be in the middle-of-nowhere Virginia, surrounded by peace and quiet.
My mom and sister, Lauren, came to visit Michael and I a couple of weeks ago. Since they’ve been to DC quite a few times before and done all of the touristy activities, this time I wanted to show them a little piece of Virginia. We decided to venture to two vineyards on the most beautiful October day. And thanks to DCAcar service we didn’t have to worry about driving ourselves!
DCAcar Service
Zack at DCAcar promptly arrived at my apartment ten minutes before our scheduled pickup time. He was welcoming and so incredibly kind. When I booked our car, I indicated that we were planning on going to Barrel Oak Winery and The Winery at Bull Run. Zack was on top of it and knew exactly where we were going!
Our first stop was Barrel Oak Winery, which is about 45 minutes to an hour outside of DC. We enjoyed a wine tasting inside the gorgeous vineyard and then grabbed a charcuterie tray and a glass of our favorite wine from the tasting to enjoy outside on the patio. The views at Barrel Oak are incredible, especially during the fall when all of the leaves are changing colors. Like I said, it was an absolutely beautiful fall day!
After spending a couple of hours at Barrel Oak, we decided to venture to The Winery at Bull Run. Zack met us right at the front door to pick us up and off we went! Bull Run is on the way back towards DC so it was the perfect pick for our second stop.
We enjoyed a second tasting at Bull Run and sat outside to take in the lovely atmosphere. The Bull Run property is sprawling and even has horses on site that roam through the vineyards during the day! After spending a couple of hours at Bull Run, it was time to head back to DC. Zack had waters waiting for us for the ride home.
After a full day, DCAcar service dropped us back off at my apartment.
If you’re looking for a car service in the DC/Maryland/Virginia area, I highly recommend checking out DCAcar. Not only is it the perfect service for a day trip to visit the wineries, DCAcar also provides airport drop-off and pick-up services at Reagan National and Dulles!
