Home For The Holidays: Christmas in Shreveport

Shreveport, Louisiana - Home For The Holidays: Christmas in Shreveport by Washington DC blogger Cobalt Chronicles

Happy Friday!  Although, honestly, the days have all mushed together over the past week, but I’m glad to have another long weekend ahead!  I had a wonderful Christmas in Shreveport, LA, which is home for me.  If you follow along on Snapchat (username: cobaltchronicle), you saw that it was in the 80s the entire time that I was home.  Definitely not Christmas weather, but it was really nice to be able to sit down on the bayou in the mornings and enjoy a cup of coffee without freezing.

Along with spending lots of time with family and friends, every time I’m in Shreveport, I make it a point to visit all of my favorite local shops and restaurants.  (You can check out my Shreveport Eats post here!).  My absolute favorite coffee shop to visit at home is Rhino Coffee.  Rhino was even featured by a local DC blog over the holidays, District of Coffee, such a small world!  A few of my other Shreveport favorites that I visited while I was home included Mint Julep (LOVE all of their adorable notepads and desk accessories), King Hardware (for unique gifts), Imelda’s (for the best women’s clothing/shoes in town!), Superior (queso, duh), Johnny’s Pizza, and Gullo’s Fresh Produce (the burgers are AMAZING!).

Michael and I are celebrating Christmas one more time tonight with dinner out at one of our favooorrriite restaurants (I’m sure I’ll be snapping!), and we have lots of football on the agenda for tomorrow plus a fun concert to ring in the new year.

Cheers and Happy New Year!
