Long Haul Flight Essentials
We just got back from our month-long trip to Europe. We had the most amazing time. I’ll have more comprehensive posts coming soon (you can check out my Instagram highlights for now), but I wanted to share a roundup of my long haul flight essentials while they’re top of mind!
We’re fortunate that there’s a direct flight from New Orleans to London. We took this British Airways flight to and from Europe. In full disclosure, we flew business class both ways (Michael booked our seats with points). This was our first time flying with Weldon on a flight over a couple of hours. I definitely learned a thing of two about must haves on long haul flights for toddlers.
Must-Have Flight Essentials
I rounded up all of my Long Haul Flight Essentials below, but I wanted to call out a few standouts. Having my own water bottle onboard is a must in my book (I had one for Weldon too). I filled them up before boarding and kept refilling them when needed with bottles of water during our flight. I always feel super dehydrated on long haul flights so this is a must for me. Kleenex, baby wipes (if you’re traveling with kids), and face wipes. I forgot to pack my face wipes in my carry on bag for the return flight, and boy was I kicking myself! All I wanted to do was wipe down my face mid flight. Never again.
Another must have is my favorite lip balm. Again with the dry air during these long flights, I feel like I’m constantly reapplying my lip balm. In addition to the usual tech suspects (iPad, laptop, AirPods etc.), this gadget is great! It allows you to connect your own headphones to the airplane TV. Great for connecting these bluetooth headphones (a MUST have for kids!) to the inflight TV for onboard entertainment.
