A Look Back at April + May Goals

It has finally warmed up in the District and actually feels like May!  April flew by, and in all honesty, was kind of a blur type of month.  Before I knew it, the first half of the month was over, then we went to Italy and the rest is history!

With that said, I didn’t accomplish a couple of my goals from my April Goals blog post last month.  But that’s ok, I’ve added them to my May list, and I think I’ll definitely have more time to put towards them both!  One of the main goals that I had in my April post that I didn’t really get on board with this past month was weight training.  But that’s definitely going to be a priority for me this month!  Even with a couple of misses, I’m really proud of sticking to my goal of cutting out sugar during April.  You can read all about that here!

Let’s dive into what’s on tap for May …

SoulCycle

I took 10 SoulCycle classes during the month of April, which is usually my goal for the month.  I don’t really keep up with how many I’m taking each week, but I like to go back in the SoulCycle App at the end of each month to see how many classes I took.  I was actually surprised when I saw that I took 10 classes in April.  Especially since I was out of town for a bit and had a nagging cold for a few days.  I mentioned upping my arm weights to 5 lbs during class in last month’s post, and I actually stuck to this throughout the month!  I definitely have to adjust some of the repetitions with the heavier weights, but the challenge is great!

I’m hoping to hit at least 10 classes this month.  And I’ll be sticking to the 5 lb weights for sure!  If you’re in the D.C. area and ride frequently at the 14th Street studio, let me know!  Would love to connect for a class!

BBG // Weight Training

Like I mentioned, weight training was an April goal that I failed miserably at, but that’s ok, I’m on it this month!  Since I go to SoulCycle pretty frequently, I canceled my gym membership.  I invested in this set of weights (super affordable) and this yoga mat for at home workouts.  I sort-a-kind-a did BBG (the Bikini Body Guide workout) last year … I have the  12-week Workout Guide and plan on jumping back on it in the next couple of weeks!

Contract Business Website Launch // Workshop

I mentioned my Contracts for Creatives business in last month’s post (I provide legal contract services for bloggers, photographers, wedding planners, and other small business owners, along with other legal services for creatives), and I mentioned that my new website was slated to launch at the end of April.  As website launches tend to go, the launch date has been pushed back a couple of weeks, but it will definitely be live this month, which I’m super excited about!

Along with the website launch, I’m in the process of planning my first full-fledged workshop!  The workshop will be focused on helping creative entrepreneurs and small business owners craft contracts.  I’m still in the beginning stages of planning, but the workshop is slated for July.  I’ll definitely keep you posted in case you’re in the D.C. area and interested in attending!

Family Time

This isn’t so much a goal as just something I’m looking forward to this month!  I’ve been looking forward to May because not only are my mom and sister visiting next weekend, but Michael’s parents and aunt and uncle are coming to D.C. this month too!  My mom and sister have visited D.C. quite a lot, so for this trip we’re spending a couple of days in D.C. and then taking the train up to NYC for the weekend.  I’m so excited for a fun girls’ weekend in the city!  My mom and sister leave on a Monday and Michael’s crew arrives that Thursday.  We have lots of fun plans lined up for his parents and aunt and uncle!  I’m excited to show them around our city (and eat allllll the good food)!

I’m also excited about the timing of all of our visitors because it means that we get to celebrate our engagement with them in person!

Cheers to a productive and fun month ahead!

Sounds like you have such a fun month planned. Hopefully your workshop falls on a day that I’m not booked for an event or out-of-town because I’d love to come and support.
