Neighborhood Eats

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday weekend!  I kicked off the weekend on Thursday evening with a little exploring in the Cathedral Heights/Cleveland Park/Georgetown neighborhoods.  One of my favorite things about DC is that there are so many unique neighborhoods, each having their own personality with local restaurants and cool shops.

To start the night, we made our way over to 2 Amys pizzeria. 2 Amys is on the Washingtonian’s top 100 list this year, so we’ve been dying to go. We’re doing our best to cross off as many of the top 100 before the 2016 list comes out! 2 Amys is a loud, bustling little restaurant, but in a very good way. The cozy bar towards the back, the white subway tiled walls, and tiled floor added to the restaurant’s character. The wine and pizza did not disappoint! The staff was super friendly, and we will definitely be back again! If you’re looking for a great, casual, delicious pizzeria, 2 Amys is your place.

And what goes better with pizza and wine than ice cream?!  I mean, it was a holiday weekend after all.  On our way to 2 Amys we spotted an adorable ice cream shop on a corner in Georgetown so we had to make a pitstop after dinner.  Thomas Sweet was filled with any and every sweet treat that you can imagine.  From fudge, to candies, to a crazy big ice cream menu, they had it all!  I settled on chocolate chip ice cream in a sprinkle cone.  It. Was. Delicious.
