Nighttime Skincare Routine

Nighttime Skincare Routine | Cobalt Chronicles

A couple of months ago, I posted a few snaps (snapchat name: cobaltchronicle) of my nighttime skincare routine, and I unexpectedly received a lot of questions about the products I use. So I figured I would share it with all of you!

Last year, I really got serious about my skin as I definitely started to notice a few wrinkles/discolored spots on my face. I tried out a TON of skincare products throughout the year, and the ones featured in this post are the ones that have stuck (and the ones that I repeatedly buy!).

First things first, I always gently wash my face with either Cetaphil or Cosmedix face wash.  Next, I use this IT Cosmetics makeup remover and LOVE it!  I use a cotton ball to wipe off any excess eye makeup and residue left over after the cleansing.  Another great thing about this product is that the jar lasts FOREVER.  I’ve had my current tub for almost 6 months.

If I’m in the mood to do something extra, I’ll either use one of these M-61 Power Glow Peels and/or a mask. I use a lot of different masks, but I love this one. (Do the peel first, and then the mask, if you do both.) The peels are great for when you feel like you need an extra deep clean (I like to use them after a long weekend or after a weekend of travel).

Next, I either use my Skinceuticals Retinol (I have 0.5% and got it from my dermatologist, but it’s available at Bluemercury for the same price) – I usually do this every other night. The retinol can also be used as a spot treatment for any pimples that pop up.  The retinol helps reduce the appearance of fine lines; It has definitely helped my wrinkles around my eyes!  On nights that I don’t use the retinol, I’ll use this serum and mix it with a little bit of this vitamin C powder.

After the retinol or serum, I apply this moisturizer.  It’s thicker than my daytime moisturizer, and I feel like it soaks in over night.  If I didn’t mix in the vitamin C with the serum, I’ll mix it in with the moisturizer on occasion.

Next, I use this eye cream.  And lastly, (especially in the winter!) I use this Clarins lip oil.

I know this seems like a lot, but once you get into the habit of a good nighttime routine, it really only takes about 10 minutes, max.  And I have definitely noticed a difference in my skin since adopting this nighttime skincare routine and sticking to it.

I know some of these products are a little on the pricey side but, I’ve accumulated these products over the past year and have bought the same products over and over. They are all great alone, I just found a routine that I like (and will stick to).  So feel free to try a couple of the products out at a time and see what works best for you!

Let me know if you have any questions at all as I’m more than happy to help!

I absolutely LOVE reading skincare routine posts…probably my favorite! I love that we use a lot of the same products in our routine, but I am really intrigued by the Clarins Lip Oil & the Skinceuticals Retinol (I’ve never used a Retinol before)…will definitely need to give them both a try. Also, love the candle 😉 Hope you’re doing well, friend!

That eye cream is the best! Definitely going to try out this retinol when I need another step. I just got the Beautycounter charcoal mask and have only used it once so far, but I thinkk I love it!
