Happy Friday!  First things first, to my Louisiana fam, I’m so excited to be partnering with SoSis boutique (seen here) for a fun event NEXT Friday!  Be sure to scroll allll the way to the end of today’s post for all the fun details on the SoSis event!

I’m only in DC one weekend in November (and one in December) …  this is the weekend!  #hallelujah  I’m so excited to be staying put this weekend.  Before we jump into weekend plans, let’s take a look back at the week!

Monday

Thanksgiving is less than a week away!  On Monday I shared Thanksgiving outfit ideas for casual lunch celebrations, nicer dinners, and post-turkey lounge looks.  I also shared what I’ll be wearing plus my family’s Thanksgiving Day tradition!

Tuesday

On Tuesday I stopped by my second-home, Nordstrom, 😉 to return a few items (it’s bad how close Nordstrom is to my office – wayyyy too many lunch break trips).  A few items I kept and am loving … this black blazer (seen here) and this bell sleeve sweater!  The blazer is PERFECT.  I’ve been looking for a black blazer for some time now.  This one is perfectly oversized, can be worn to the office (but doesn’t look stuffy at all), and pairs perfectly with jeans for happy hour or date night on the weekends!  The sweater is available in 4 colors, super soft and cozy, and under $40!

Wednesday

In anticipation of holiday travel, on Wednesday I shared 5 tips for easy travel + a holiday travel outfit!  I’ll be implementing all of those tips for my super early flight out next Thursday!

On Wednesday night I had the pleasure of speaking at the DC Bloggers‘ November meet-up.  It’s always fun to network and chat with other bloggers in the area.  One of my favorite things about blogging has been meeting so many amazing people that I wouldn’t otherwise have had the opportunity to meet!

I spoke about the importance of contracts in the blogging world.  Contracts are one of the many behind the scenes pieces of blogging and an important topic for bloggers and creatives to be informed on.  If you’re interested in learning more about this topic, check out my other website, www.ashleehightower.com, where I provide contract services to creatives!

Thursday

Thursday was a really exciting day behind the scenes.  I know cryptic messages are the worst, but there are so many fun things coming your way that I’m working on behind the screen.  Thursday was just one of those days where I really felt like I’m doing what I’m meant to be doing, and a huge part of that is a direct result of you being interested in visiting my blog and social media platforms daily and weekly.  I am so appreciative of all of my readers!  So thank YOU for your continued support of my little corner of the internet! 🙂

Weekend Plans

Like I mentioned above, I’m SO excited to be in DC this weekend.  My Friday night plans include heading to our local hardware store to pick up firewood, grabbing dinner on the way home, and parking it in front of the fireplace with a good movie.  As a side note – carrying firewood 6 blocks is always an entertaining adventure.  I’ll try to share with y’all on Instagram Stories tonight! #nocarproblems

I’ll be up bright and early Saturday morning for a fun event at Pentagon City Mall, which happens to be where the Nordstrom is that I mentioned above!  I’ll be previewing a lot of holiday gifts and sharing gift ideas over on Insta Stories so be sure to tune in!

Otherwise, I’ll be in total Black Friday/Cyber Monday prep mode getting all of my content ready to be shared with y’all next week!  So many great sales happening – I can’t wait!

SoSis Event

I’m SO excited for NEXT Friday!  You may remember when I posted about SoSis earlier this fall.  The shop is located right across the bridge from Baton Rouge, in Port Allen, Louisiana (address here).  I’ll be there on Friday from 5-7pm!  There will be drinks, treats, and more!  Stop by for a fun evening cap on your Black Friday!
