Week In Review

Blue Bottle Coffee Georgetown
Blue Bottle Coffee has arrived in D.C.!

It’s Friday!  I hope you’ve had a wonderful week!  Let’s catch up, shall we?!

Monday

On Monday I shared an exciting feature with you – My apartment tour + an interview that appeared on Houzz.com!  A little background on the shoot for that piece … I had 48 hours from the time that they pitched the idea to the time that the photographer came to shoot!  So you’re definitely getting the real deal in the article!  No time to tackle all of those nagging projects around the house!

Tuesday

At the last minute, I RSVPed to an event at WeWork … WeWork is hosting a “Do What She Loves” series over the summer, and the second installment was held Tuesday night.  Meg Biram, a local DC blogger, moderated a panel of boss b*tches – Lauren Bates, Chief Marketing Officer at Urbanstems, Amanda McClements, founder of Salt & Sundry, and Gina Pak, Office of the CEO and Sr. Director of Consumer Experience at Theory, chatted about their career experiences and the future of retail.  It was awesome to hear from ladies at the top of their game at companies that I adore!

Wednesday

On Wednesday I shared a few fall items that are on my radar.  I’m really trying my best not to purchase any more summer pieces!  I did pop in Madewell this week to pick up a top, but it will definitely carry over into the fall!  I haven’t been in an actual Madewell store in quite some time, THEY HAD SO MANY GOOD THINGS!  I made it out with only the shirt, but here are few other pieces that I had a hard time leaving behind …

Thursday

Thursday was spent prepping for an event that I’m co-hosting this Saturday.  If you’re in the D.C. area, you should come hang!  I’m co-hosting the event with my friend Richard Kerr – He’s a travel nut and knows more than I ever will about traveling with points and miles.  He’s the founder of the Facebook Group, Award Travel 101, the original Facebook community for all things points and miles.  The event is at The Brig.  There will be happy hour specials during the event + we have some AMAZING giveaways to hand out!  It’s free to attend … check out this page for all the details, and if you don’t mind, register as well so we’ll have a rough headcount!

Weekend Plans

Other than the event, I’m planning on shooting a few looks for a fun collaboration I’m working on for next week – I can’t wait to share with you!  And getting a few other blog-related things done while enjoying the weekend!

Other Happenings

Since the Nordstrom sale is sadly over, I took down the Nordstrom tab at the top of the site, but I replaced it with something even better!  I get asked a lot of questions about where I shop, traveling, and blogging so I put together a resources page that includes all of my top resources in those three categories!  Check it out and let me know if you have any questions about anything I listed!
