Definitely missing the ocean views and warm weather this week! Michael and I had the best time in St. Croix and St. Thomas last weekend. But alas, we had to return to reality (and frigid temps). This week flew by – I think it’s the holiday countdown. Let’s take a look back at this fast-paced week and a look ahead to a Christmas filled weekend!
Monday

Michael and I spent most of Monday in St. Croix before flying back to DC late that afternoon. We wandered around downtown that morning and spent the afternoon on the beach. The effects of hurricane Maria are still very real on the island, but every local that we ran into was so incredibly gracious and thanked us for still deciding to visit even during their recovery process. If you have a trip planned to St. Croix or St. Thomas, definitely still make it happen! The islands are stunning. I promise you won’t regret it!
Tuesday

Wednesday
On Wednesday I shared a fun post featuring a local DC artist + an easy at-home cocktail recipe! I can’t wait to get the prints framed to hang above my bar cart!
Wednesday night I met Jenn, Kristyn, Laura, Monica, and Katie at Kith and Kin for a little holiday dinner. When our waiter asked if we were celebrating anything in particular, Jenn gleefully told him, “we’re celebrating our friendship!” We all laughed at the cheesiness of it, but it’s true! If it weren’t for blogging, I never would have met any of these ladies. I’m so thankful to not only be able to call them my blogger friends, but just my friends! As a side note, Kith and Kin was AMAZING. I highly recommend the brussel sprouts and burger!
Thursday
I officially finished up most of my Christmas shopping on Thursday. Just a few gift cards to pick up, and I’ll be all set. I used Nordstrom’s order online/pick-up in-store for a couple of gifts. It was my first time using it, and I have to say, Nordstrom strikes again! It was SO incredibly convenient. Perfect for the late shopper who doesn’t have time for shipping (if you have a Nordstrom nearby, obviously).
Weekend Plans
Michael and I are having a Home Alone filled Friday night before heading out early Saturday morning on the train to NYC! There’s no place I’d rather visit around the holidays than New York – there’s something so magical about Christmas time in the city. No matter how many times I’ve been, it never gets old!
