The new normal, I suppose. Heading out to pick up an online grocery order.

Happy Friday! I’m not sure why but this week seemed to fly by. I think it’s because I was pretty busy with work the first half of the week and then the full on sunshine on Thursday made that day really enjoyable. The weather has such an affect on my mood, especially during this quarantine time! It’s supposed to be sunny and hot all weekend long here in Houston, which I’m SO thankful for! It has been dreary and grey the past few weekends. I’m looking forward to spending lots of time outside on our deck!

This Week’s Blog Posts

Easy Homemade Bread // I’ve been working on perfecting my homemade bread recipe, and I finally figured out the measurements that work for me (and my stove)! I also got my hands on more yeast this week (thanks to Red Dessert Dive!) – I’m planning on trying out this focaccia bread recipe this weekend that a friend sent over (thanks Virginia!).

I Needed a Cute Outfit … Date Night Outfit Idea! // I shot these photos a few months ago, but ended up wearing a similar outfit, minus the heels, for a date night at home last weekend! The duster is one of my favorite pieces in my closet!

Sephora Sale Picks (all clean!) // The Sephora sale is still going strong! It ends on Monday, so make sure to take advantage while it’s happening. Your discount amount depends on your Sephora status. All the details are included in the blog post!

Weekly Workouts

This week’s workouts …

Since we’ve moved to strictly at-home workouts, I’ve been sharing my workouts daily on Instagram Stories. I saved them all to a highlight on my Instagram page if you need some inspiration! Most are short 30 minute workouts, easy to squeeze in!

This week, Michael and I did Orangetheory workouts Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. They’re free and viewable on YouTube! We’ve been doing Orangetheory almost every weekday, and I was reminded this morning that each class is challenging – my calves are aching (in a good way) from yesterday’s workout!

My computer decided to freak out on Wednesday morning, so I skipped working out.

Today (Friday), Michael and I are streaming a yoga class from the studio we attend here in Houston, Yoga Works. You can check out the schedule here: https://www.yogaworks.com/classes/live/

We’ve also been taking numerous short walks around our neighborhood during the day to break up the days. And we’ve been adding in long walks over the weekend – usually at least one 1-hour walk.

Podcast Recs

Along with the current book I’m reading (finally jumped on The Idea of You, so good!), I’m also listening to Jessica Simpson’s audio book, Open Book. She narrates it. It’s SO GOOD. Even if you’re not a huge Jessica Simpson fan, it’s worth a read or listen. I had no idea how much she’s been through in her life. She doesn’t hold back at all. She spills all the details of her childhood, her marriage to Nick Lachey, and apparently all of her other relationships too (I’m not this far along yet). Highly recommend!

With that said, I didn’t listen to too many podcast episodes this week. Here are the episodes I listened to this week:

Bad on Paper Podcast: FMK: Quarantine Edition

A Drink with James: Isolation Creation en Provence with Jamie Beck

Slow Your Scroll: @mystylediaries | PR Etiquette, Blacklists + Promo Boxes Explained with Nikki Prendergast

Slow Your Scroll: @bethereinfive | Deep Diving Into Influencer Culture with Kate Kennedy

Weekend Plans

I’m beyond excited about the fact that it’s supposed to be sunny all weekend long. I’m planning on repotting our mint plant and spending as much time as possible outside. Michael and I are also planning on firing up the grill again this weekend – thinking burgers or BBQ chicken!

My Favorite Things this Week

A few of my favorite things this week …

Isle of Paradise Self Tanning Drops // I needed a little pep in my step early on the week. These self tanning drops have been giving me life! I love that they add the perfect amount of tan to my face! I use the medium shade. They’re available in light, medium, and dark. Currently included in the Sephora sale!

Raised Garden Bed // I resurrected our herb garden last weekend and used our raised garden bed. We bought this garden bed last year, but it has been empty since the beginning of the winter. It’s so easy to use and great for small spaces. We don’t have yard space, just a deck. It works perfectly!

Onzie Workout Top // I got this new workout top in last week, and I love it! Seen wearing it here! It’s a little odd in that it only comes in one size, but it’s because there are slits all the way up both sides. Sounds weird, but it’s really cute on! I have it in solid black as well.

Sending all the good vibes your way this weekend!

    Happy Friday, friend!
This week was so slow for me for some reason – and it’s been pretty rainy here in New York. My boyfriend and I have been going for nightly walks after the work day is done and after he teaches yoga (you and Michael should join one of his IG Live classes!). I think we’re going to go for a run this weekend because it’s supposed to be nice on Saturday – looking forward to getting back into running for sure!
